Robomower... I thinks I want!

I have one and love it. I also have the robotic lawn mower. That is the best. It also has a dock it pulls under and I have it set so it comes out and mows my yard every 3 days. I need to buy a mower for my new house (moving from a condo). I was considering the robomower. Everybody that has one says they love it...but dang the lowest price found is $1040 at Sam's Club. Robomower Website (http://www.friendlyrobotics.com/) The basic one will do 1/3 acre. It has a anti-lift safety, so if anybody lifts it, it automatically shuts off. The new ones also have a rain sensor that will make it shut off. It is the substitution for your normal 21" mower. It will mow the entire yard within its set perimeter in about 2-3 times as long as it takes to do it yourself. How it works... pay a local kid to cut it

This mower is better than any kid. I dont even worry about mowing because it takes care of it automaticly. I am in an apartment for the next two months(in between houses) but I have used it two summers now and it is great. I will never go back to the old do it yourself mowing. The setup can be a little tedious if you have alot of curves in your landscaping, but well worth the time to do it right. You can also set up different zone and have it mow a zone a day if you want to. It can handle way more than a third of an acre. go for it you wont be dissapointed

Did you get the smaller or larger one?

G-Man, cmon now, before I would pay more than necessary to cut my grass, I would do it myself. These are my two choices, rideable or not rideable depending on the size of the yard, period.

Well I have probably a 45 min job on my new house grass... that would include mowing and edging. My bro-in-law works for a tractor company so I'll be getting the hook up on a honda mower, stihl whip and blower.... but I really like the idea of the robomower... But then again... my brother is going to be living with me and I can always make him cut it as part of his rent! :D

I have a neighbor that has one. He loves it but says it only works well on very level and smooth ground. His yard is also like a putting green.

Yeah they only do a 15 degree incline... Would you say it looks so good cause of the robomower?

His front yard (putting green) is defiantly aided by the Robo. His bask yard looks more like a fast Fairway. Its all sloped.

I just can't decide if I want this or not... my lawn is not big by any means.... and with me, the wife, and the brother living there... and my little bro-in-law (different than the tractor guy..this one is 11years old). If its worth getting the robo or not... I can get all my gas powered lawn stuff for 10% over cost... for everything $600-$800. But with the robo... its like $1100 and that isn't the weed whip or blower...

go to ebay you can get one for 500 or less sometimes. mine is the size of a push mower. The blades are about 10 inches long and there are three of them. it mulches, and dosent have problems with rough terrain. My old back yard had a tree that had a bunch of roots growing on top of the soil and it would hop over them with no problem. The best feeling in the world is getting in the yard on sunday when all the neighbors are mowing and sitting in a chair drinking a cold one in the shade watching the little guy go. :cheers: I have no idea about hills I live in texas we only see hills in pictures

Here you go this is a good one. It dosent have the docking station, but will do everything else. The little grey thing on the top is a remote. You can pick that up and drive the mower on to the lawn, then hit go. Have you checked the price of a good riding mower lately? They're usually more expensive than this robomower. I guess it all comes down to how much grass you need to cut, how much time it will take from your day, how much you like (or hate) to mow, etc. Chris, You can also look at the fact that if you do buy the robomower, you may only need to use the weed whip. You can do that while the mower does it's job and save some time in that regard.

That's what I was thinking Capt. XRay... you have the 500or the 850? Do you know of any major differences? I really want a new one... not a used one. And with prespective on that... its $1042 + tax (shipping included) at Sam's Club.

Heck I shud then get one of those cordless electric weedwhips as well... no gas at all to use! Sense we all know its not getting cheaper!

you want an opinion, get off your backside and do labor. there is no way in hell I'm letting a robot do jobs that I was supposed to do. you shouldnt either. get a riding mower and do it that way. for around $2500 or so, you can get a reasonable used zero turn mower that was built for commercial use. I'm sorry but robotic crap just makes me mad. I'll shut my trap and go back to playing with something or other.

My lawn is SMALL. Its not a riding mower lawn... but how cool would it be to have the robot doing it.

I'm in a condo now and going to house instead.... I just can't decide which way to go with the mowers... robot or self propelled gas...

this one is not bad idea either Neuton electric mower (http://www.drpower.com/TwoStepCategory.aspx?Name=NeutonMower2Step) quite & uses battery for power. But yeah that robotmower is saweeet.

interesting but not nearly as cool as the robo!
