My Thursday morning

I've taken my bike to work everyday for the last week, but today I have to head to Birmingham after work and bring some things with me. I needed to take the car, but it needed gas. I was on the way to work this morning when I stopped to get gas. Because of an incident where my car randomly decided to lock itself with the keys in the car, I now roll my windows down or take the keys when I fill up the tank. You may recall several threads this past summer asking how to eradicate wasps, bees and hornets. This may give you indication of how much I enjoy these pests... Anyway, I'm standing there filling up with the good stuff and there is a yellow-jacket that just won't go away. I'm dancing around the car, looking like an idiot, trying to avoid getting stung. The sucker wouldn't leave me alone, I swatted at him and hit the thing. He goes down and I figure that's that. I continue to get gas and there he is again, persistent POS. I step back as he hovers around the gas nozzle, lands on the door sill and sits there. Now I know he's going in the car and I need to prevent that, I grab one of those credit card flyers at the pump but by the time I get it he's in the car... somewhere. Damnit! So I throw open the door and there he is on the sill. I take the credit card flyer and swat, for the second time. Uh oh, now I don't see him at all. I don't know if he's on the car or I got him out of the car. So, I finish pumping the gas and start on my way to work again. Since I don't know if he's in there, I'm looking down at that door sill every 1.3 seconds to see if he surfaces. Well, he did. I slam on the brakes, ABS kicks in and I hurry out of that car like a little girl. By the time I get out and look at the door sill, he's gone again. Once more, I don't know where he is. (See a pattern here?) So I high-tail it to work with the seat belt off, windows down and doors unlocked trying to figure out if I really need to come to a complete stop to exit the car. I made it to work, but I don't know if he's in there or not. I didn't want to leave the windows down because I don't want anything else flying in during the day. Do you think this insect with nine lives can survive in the car all day? What am I supposed to do? I don't want to be flying at 80 down the freeway when he decides to surface again.

Once you swatted him. You should've stepped on him and been done with it.

Couldn't find the POS, he disappeared each time I swatted him.

Hmmm... maybe you should call your husband and ask him to come out and kill it for you? :D j/k, I hate those things to. But sure would have been funny to watch some guy dancing around the car cuz a bee got in.

Damn, those things suck!!!! I HATE yellow-jackets. AND wasps! I would have LOVED to see the dancing around though. ;) :hug: ~* ChaR *~

Rename this black Thursday - I wish I had 1,000 yellow jackets in my car compared to my day - wheels I have been waiting for for 8 weeks come in all wrong and a certain atomic plant in Germany is pissed, parts that I shipped to China are NFG because someone couldn't do their job and rust proof them like I told them to and last but not least I have 40 skids wiping out limit and prox switches at OKC that will never go away. DOH! It doesn't get any better than this kids!

Rename this black Thursday - I wish I had 1,000 yellow jackets in my car compared to my day - wheels I have been waiting for for 8 weeks come in all wrong and a certain atomic plant in Germany is pissed, parts that I shipped to China are NFG because someone couldn't do their job and rust proof them like I told them to and last but not least I have 40 skids wiping out limit and prox switches at OKC that will never go away. Yeah and tomorrow they are cutting 20-25% of the staff here - should be a joyous day tomorrow! The beatings will continue until moral improves. Gee and I am in the middle of a **** storm - that should make me high on the cut list tomorrow.

Well put it this way: My Department Sales this Year - $8 million Rest of the Company - $102 million The company as a whole made $2.5 million profit (pretty sh!tty and our parent company in Germany is pissed). My department made $2.6 million profit on $8 million - hmm.. Not sure there but seems like SOMEBODY IS PULLING ALL THE F%CKING WEIGHT!!!!! Contracts (the rest of the company) just lost $80 million for this and next year because they couldn't come to terms with Chrysler so I have a feeling the cuts will be pretty much in that area and not mine. F*ck em though - all $2.6 million of that profit went personally through my hands and I made every last bloody penny of that money - why? because that is what I am good at - making money where there is none to make - and I am the only one that even knows the system or how to do it so if they cut me f*ck em they are f*cking themselves. I will be out a job but it wouldn't be the first time. The economy sucks and so do jobs here but there is always money to make. I will figure something out. I will keep you posted. I should be safe - they whacked like 60% of the company last year and I am still there.
