That cage ruins the looks IMO. :iagree: He should have bought the Freestyle Ingenuity Cage, instead of the 905 racing cage, that thing looks terrible imo and the FI cage definatley makes the bike look better.

:yikes:   yeah man he's really bummed out now. I told him I'd help him part it out, and everything thing just like I did for my SV. I've been thru it, and know how well the out come is of parting out. He's looking at getting an 07 R1 anyway. That's all he's been talking about for the past month or so.

Well Zack is one that does mile long+ stand up wheelies, and he well over exceeded one mile today. That's when she went KaBOOM! I'm no where at his level of wheelies...so I don't have too much to worry about yet. Also he's waiting till the 07 R1 comes out to get another one.

Yami has always been tight lipped about new models. It is time tho. If they follow suit from the last decade or so.

Ive heard that the 07 R1 is going to be completely revamped looks wise....anyone else hear similar? There was a picture of the 2007 R1 in Motorcyclist Magaizine, i think. I have it at the house. i'll bring it to work tomorrow and scan it, put it up here with the article. As for the 2006 R1, it is going to be recalled because they continually blow camshafts. The 2006 R6 is supposed to be recalled also, that was publicized (sp) from Yamaha because it does not redline where it is supposed to so they are offering a full refund or for you to wait until the 2007 R6. ((**I am told this by dealers as well as people who race at the local track and are sponsored by Yamaha**))

Just an update on Zacks R1. He bought a 2005 R1 engine for his 2004 R1...it should all match up. Also the same day he went to the Yami dealer and put down a $1000.00 deposit for a 2007 R1. Even though no one really knows what it will look like...he doesn't care, which ever color comes in first he's got first dibs on it. I don't know if I totally like that front end on that concept 07 R1 above. It's just a concept model...so we don't know just yet.

The '07's should be coming out in a couple months. Proly not available til '07 because it has been three years and are in order for a complete redesign.

I remember the day Ball_Sak first bought his 04 R6 in 2004....we decided we would both buy the R1 in 2007 when the new design came out. That has all changed 3 years later....I bought my R1 already, and can't afford to get a brand new one, and Ball_Sak is building a new house so there goes his 07 R1 funds.

I like the 07 R1, though that is a concept picture, I hope that they change that intake on the front, that's the only turn-off. I will probably have one, if not the 1000RR next year. Anyone want to buy me 2005 R6 with aftermarket parts?

Anyone want to buy me 2005 R6 with aftermarket parts? That intake is straight from motoGP. Straight in through the frame and in the air box. Kawi has been doing it for a while and it's definately better than the old. It might not please your eyes, but it's the best way to get the air in.

Then everyone around here got one and I don't want one anymore. The people around here don't even know how to ride them, they are more of a 'show' bike then anything; you know, "I have to show everyone I have a 1K instead of a little baby 6". There has been like 12 deaths here in El Paso, Texas this year on bikes. Last night four riders when down like 3 miles away from my house. I'm still going to get a 1K, just wait until next year probably.

Also, you don't want to post your email like that on an online forum... There are trolling webbots, basically computer programs that search the internet, that look for email addresses posted online to put on email distribution lists... I would just list my email as sw1fter79 'at' yahoo.com... Of course the trolling bots are getting smarter and can recognize that too sometimes... could do sw1fter79, yahoo, dot, com...
