Guy here at work just installed a Givi trunk similar to mine on the back of his SV. I will convert the world:BAHA: :nopicsbs: I want to see what it would look like on my bike... but I think I found the solution It's a little more expensive than I wanted to spend, but if I get this product, I won't have to buy a rear solo seat cowl, so it'll net out in the end. This tail bag, zips to a cordura covered hard plate that locks in place of the rear seat. So I'd have the trunk space, access to my glove box, and no extra seat. I'd get the deluxe for the actual trunk space when traveling: http://www.luggagelocker.com/media/__elite_zip_pak_LARGE.jpg and this little bag is only 3" tall (for rain gear only) I'd use it for regular commuting, AND it zips between the two bags for extra space when traveling.: http://www.luggagelocker.com/media/__stak_pak_LARGE.jpg

And one of the reasons I bought the bike was for weekend trips (and commuting to Guard Drills) So with this on the seat, it's enough for a basic weekend, and for longer trips (like the gap ralley) I can add the saddle bags.... for everyday use, I'll get the small 3" bag.. just enough for rain gear :D

1-10 of june... they tried to go two weekends and a full week.. if you can only make 1 weekend (a long weekend like me) try and aim for the last weekend. My plan was to take off from work (around 330p on Wed) ride 7-8 hours (10:30 ish) stop for the night in a cheap little motel.. then finish it up in the morning. We'll be into the lodge by noon-ish, and still have plenty of time to ride Thursday, and not be totally exhausted.. but I can still get in 3 full days of work basically. Here is the thread with the contact information for the lodge: http://www.twowheelforum.com/showthread.php?t=11362

Actually, those directions I just e-mailed, the last stretch of road comming accross is the dragon. Definately not what you want to run for the first time at midnight after riding for 11 hours (11 hours 25 minutes straight mapquest time) If you zoom in on the route I e-mailed you US129 is the highway... there's an 11 mile stretch referred to as "The Dragon"

Rider
09-07-2006, 03:48 PM
That route you sent doesnt take into account that on a bike you have to stop every 3 hours to get gas(and rest your butt).

justpucky
09-07-2006, 03:53 PM
I've found using mapquest it works out about the same... mapquest assumes speed limits... and I've never driven the speedlimit... always a little over. So you gain ground, then surrender when you stretch and fuel. It works out almost exactly. But that is why I figured 12 hours.

fatburg
09-07-2006, 03:55 PM

We're not comming from detroit, and the difference could be roads also, we're super slab 2/3 of the way down, so we're running more than 55. I knew you weren't from Detroit, I was just using a city that would be kinda near ya sorta in a way not really:lol: Alot of mine is I-70 and other decent highways also.

yeh, mapquest routes me to 69, and 69 straight south.. GR is the 2nd largest city in the state, and GR_Z750 and I are both right in town.

goldwings can't corner, and if you take the back way, there are some nice curves on the way to mommies house... Need to carry over night gear, (or army uniform) but still play with twisties... Have you ever seen the video of the Wings at the Gap?

Things like that get me thinking... Well, Duh.. .it's called ediiting, they didn't include the girls that were offended or threatened to sue. Have you ever seen the video of the Wings at the Gap? Yeah, those guys could ride, but with the center of gravity, and foot pegs, I'd rather have a sport bike... Maybe I should have said "Goldwings can't corner AS WELL as a sportbike." :neen:
