Need4Speed 10-11-2004, 10:31 AM Little house on the prairie people never had to worry about gas prices!!! let's protest these prices and bring back horses to get around!! GSXR1000DJ 10-11-2004, 10:58 AM $2.15 for me last time I got gas. :( Mudpuppy 10-11-2004, 11:12 AM Right now in Detroit it is $1.98 per gallon on the average. There is some website around here that shows you all the different stations prices - I am sure they have that for California as well. I think Gasman showed me that. pretty soon they'll be charging 5.00 a gallon for that too.. Gas Man 10-12-2004, 01:12 PM The problem is the gas station companies aren't plannin on the prices going down! Over the past week or so, I've watched them changing their really high highway signs. Before when the price of regular went over 1.99 to $2 somin, the sign would just out because the 1 before "." couldn't make a 2.
But now they fixed it up so they can do anything up to $3 somin.
THEY TRUELY BLOW HORSE NUTS!!! Need4Speed 10-12-2004, 02:17 PM its so bad down here now, that more and more stations are going to digital readouts on their signs..that way they can change the price at will!!! :bash: tdrcomm 10-12-2004, 05:28 PM $2.65 - premium

When I lived out there, people back in Indiana would complain about the $1.60 price of gas when I was paying close to, or over $2. I definitely would not want to pay Cali gas prices. I just put $9.05 in my R1 for 3.5 gallons of Premium. I am in the process of making my WR450 street legal. I will update with the savings later.http://www.phoenixgasprices.com/
That web site is very useful here, I was pissing about $2.50 a gallon but there are worse stations out there. In Arizona we have Diamond Shamrock stations, about the equivalent of Beacons in the southeast. It is always a gamble whether or not you will get krap fuel or something decent.
Back to work... WarpedRotor 04-15-2005, 01:40 PM A co worker just topped off his Ford F350 with dual tanks. $104 and chances are it will last less than 2 weeks. With it warming up here, A/C is going to kick in and cause worse performance.

The major hikes in gas prices comes from the gas distributors...aka the semi truck driver companies... they are the ones that buy it off the major oil company like Exxon/Mobil then sell it to the Exxon gas station (which is privately owned)... so let's say the distributor pays $1.50 a gallon sells it to the gas station for $1.75 then add the taxes of say $0.25 a gallon... bang $2.25! And $1.50 is a rough average price of a gallon of gas from the oil company in my area... 2FURYUS 04-18-2005, 08:28 AM Gas just went down 2 cents....now $2.49/gal. :screwy: Low 04-18-2005, 08:49 AM Dang... they have a few in design. Yamaha offers a EC-02 bike but I couldnt find a decent web site.

Its actually a new job, still goign through the mile and a half long hiring process for a local police department. So no stories on it, and really i don't think there will be much for stories...its ap retty uneventful; job, onlything that ever happens of interest is the amount we get form places and that gets old after day too, its just green paper anymore... Very heavy paper sometimes but non the less. jeeps84 04-25-2005, 11:33 PM I would think the paper is the easy part.
Haul the coin and brake the scales. Gas Man 04-26-2005, 12:40 AM Yeah but it is still interesting to the rest of us! ScottSellersUNR 04-26-2005, 08:17 AM Theres a few roads up in South Lake Tahoe where i go everyday that has a sign that says " 10 ton limit". I'm glad its a back road cuz im sure that we weigh over that alot, the truck is 19,000lbs and with three ppl and money its gotta run close. We normally only take cribs of coins short distances to vaults in town, normally up in tahoe and on the freeway its just a few small boxes.. sometimes maybe 3-400lbs but not even much then.
Its definalty different going from the biggest thing i drove being a 3800lb toyota truck to a 10ton armored car with a 466 turbo deisel. I drive the only armored car in the fleet since we drive mostly mountains and climb aobut 3000 feet each day to 7500feet. Still a slow truck even with the 800lbs of torque or whatever crazy amount it puts out, might be more i really have no clue. But with coin i've wondered if we have ever been over the weight limit, since i dont even know what that limit is on Cali or NV freeways. chev 04-26-2005, 08:25 AM Theres a few roads up in South Lake Tahoe where i go everyday that has a sign that says " 10 ton limit". Gotta question, and I'm not trying to be a jerk, but are you sure the GVW rating on the truck isn't 19,000lbs? I say that because the GVW rating on a 2005 F350 crew cab dually is 13,500lbs. A F550 has a GVW of 19,000lbs. I think that truck comes in at around 10k dry, so you can add 9k to it. Not trying to question your intelligence but 19k dry is a **** load. jeeps84 04-26-2005, 08:26 AM Weight limits are set to number of axles the truck has.
All states have 80,000 limit on 18 wheel trucks. (average load is 41,000lb's)
You can get permits to haul more in some states.
Don't worry to much about that bridge.
They usually set the limits well below its structural limits to avoid or scar away the heavies.
I've wondered about the coin thing.
I have a close friend that owns three car washes.
We have hauled bags of unrolled quarters to the bank.
Oh my back. :sob:
:sorry: :jacked: ScottSellersUNR 04-26-2005, 07:19 PM a F550 has lots of aluminum and fiberglass... the Armored truck has a fiberglass front too, but the rest of it has 2 1/4" layers of cast steel on the inside and outside. and the turbo on the 466 has got to be 20lbs or more Heavier then a F350s. but most the weight is from the armoring of the truck. 1" plexiglass isnt heavy but compared to standard glass and when u have so much its not light either. But the i know the body costs in the vacinity of 40,000$. I'd assume partially since its commercial, but mostly cuz of the cost of all the cast steel. And i know the loading limit on your standard C body truck is 5,000lbs. Much under the 9,000 of a F550 because of all the extra armor weight. It may not actually weigh 19,000 but i know its gotta be close, a 6'x6' sheet of 1/4 sttel isnt light... then u gotta double that just to cover a 6x6 square... the truck has gotta have 60sq' or more of surface thats armored.
