I'm skeptical... I have seen $0.20 ups and downs before... It goes down $0.16, then comes up $0.20... then goes up $0.05... then goes down $0.10.... then back up $0.07... Overall trend is up....
I saw something on 20/20 or one of those other tv news rags... A guy who has been forcasting gas prices for a good number of years and has been dead on accurate... He said by next summer gas prices will be over $4/gallon...
Who knows... I am surely not going to bank on some predicition, but his record sounded pretty good...
I am just not getting excited when I see an initial drop... in a month if the prices are still down, I will start getting excited...:nana: itgirl25 08-14-2006, 11:32 AM well, soon it'll be time to heat your home, so it will be going down. but then your heating oil will be skyrocketing, so it doesn't really matter. they get you coming and going. :iagree: I heard on the news about a month ago that the reason gas is like it is is because the gas companies know that they can milk us for all were worth and could easily be back down to $1.70-$2.00 a gal. As I have alluded to in previous a previous thread... I concur...
If we continue to pay out the arse and remain unwilling to really change our habits... What motivation would they have to lower prices? Because they are nice?
Our demand sets the price... Capitalism at it's finest... Charge more, charge more, charge more until demand does not allow you to charge anything more... Then level off and get fat paid...
I have said it before and I will say it again... It's OUR fault gas prices continue to climb... marko138 08-15-2006, 05:58 AM It went down a little here from 2.99 down to 2.97 in some places....and some stayed 2.99.
