Football season

Sorry guys, I have to go there... Was anybody watching the Lions game Friday night? It was the first preseason game for them and they won :yikes: . Barely. If the ball hadn't fallen off the T, they wouldn't have... so in door stadium, no wind... during the replays, did anybody find the string attached to the ball? Or the T itself? Inquiring minds want to know.

Didn't watch...b/c the Lions suck. :lol: I did see the Super Bowl Champs get beat up though.

Yeah, I dont' usually watch football, but Hockey season doesn't start until October.

I missed the first preseason game for our might Chiefs darn it. Oh well, there will be plenty more chances to see them lose:lol:

They won't win it this year. It will probably be Ohio State or Okla(big 12 soft schedule)homo. Even with USC's cupcake pac 10 schedule with the losses they won't get back into the big show. The SEC will just beat itself out of the national championship title per usual with the help of BS voting to make sure any that get close don't make it and some cupcake BS team does.

i'm not a big Penn St. fan, but it would be nice to see them do well for once. i like the way college FB is always changing. and best of all...no more USC dominance this year (at least i hope).

Lions will be over 500 this year, thats all I am hoping for. Every turn-around needs to start somewhere! As far as College, The Wolverines will NOT have their head up their asses this year. Probably not a nat'l champ year, but a definite contender in the big 10.

Whats the deal with Portis? He separated his shoulder on that tackle off the interception...I haven't heard anything else about it, but I'm just praying it doesn't require surgery. I have to say though, it was a great hit :yikes:

The games take ALL DAY, and at the end of the season the BCS always finds a way to screw things up. You could easily end up as national champ and be no where near the best team. The media always plays a role in the outcome and thats not the way sports are suppose to be. FSU is always overrated, and ND is even worse. As far as the NFL, I used to really like the Pats. That is untill the media decided to shove them down my throat. IM SO SICK OF THEM I COULD PUKE!!! yes they are a great team but they ARE NOT the best team ever. And Brady is overratted. hes good but not great, hes an ok QB on a good team. Im just tired of hearing about them. Reggie bush will be Ok this year and get better every year "IF" and its a big if with rookies these days, IF he can keep his head on straight shut up and listen to his coaches and teammates. I won't be able to help but root for the lions a little this year. I know what fans are going through my team was TERRIBLE for years and its painful so I FEEL YOU LIONS FANS!!! stay strong. When the going gets tough just pop in a tape of Barry sanders running and remember the good ol days. My hopes for the season come down to this. I hope the lions do decent, as well as the Texans. I hope the cowboys don't win a single game. I hope the Packers don't gain a single yard all season. Yes I still think Brady is overrated, I hear many people use the 3 rings argument. As far as Im concerned you cannot attribute a superbowl ring to just one guy. There have been several average QBs who have won superbowls and some great QBs who have never won. It takes a whole team. I think the pats are a VERY balanced well coached team, that deserves and has earned the rings they have. I agree that Brady holds the offense together, he is a good team leader and has the respect and confidence of his teammates. I just think that after watching Brady play he wouldn't be as effective on a team with out as many weapons. I also agree that manning didn't do as well as he could/should have this year. He has the weapons on offense but not on defense. I know defense doesn't seem to have much to do with offense but the more you hold the other team, the more times they punt the more turnovers you get the better feild possition your offense has the better your offense will fair. Don't get me wrong Brady is a GOOD quaterback I just don't think he is as good as people think. Id like to see him on a diffrent team to see how well he does. Remember that Drew also did VERY well while he played for the Pats. Just like this past year when Kyle Orten was the Bears QB, yeah we had a decent season but to attribute that to Kyle would be INSANE. It was our Defense that won those games. At any rate regardless of who is responsible the Pats are a GREAT team that has earned respect. Im sure they will have another good season, just not as good as the BEARS!!!!!!! LOL
