anyexcus2ride 08-22-2006, 08:58 PM Just a little about me: I battled with Meth for over 10 years and was not a casual user. full blow IV drug user. I guess you could say a was a peice of S*** during this time in my life. Been clean and sober now for almost 4 years and spend my time working with high risk youth and am also a youth paster.
Now during my drug addiction I had experienced many rushes but nothing compaired to my new found vice in the sportbike world. The most disapointing thing is that I am now 34 and have missed all those years getting out there and hitting the twisties and of course Pilot Powers:dthumb:
The great thing out of all this is now I have something I really enjoy and there is never a negative thing that has come out of it, except on sunday when I told the wife I was going to the store and ended up on a 300 mile ride up in the twisties:cry:woops my bad:angelhap:
Life is good and I would never trade my new life or my sportbike to live in a spoon ever again. :twfrox:
:dthumb: Good to hear you changed your life and have a positive message to spread. Rep points well deserved.

bumblebee 08-23-2006, 08:58 AM congrats for getting out...
My wife worked for a local Health Department counseling "at risk" kids (14 to 19 yrs-old). Most of them were meth abusers and were court-ordered into the counseling...Many were from broken and totally dysfunctional families...we got calls in the middle of the night many times, and she would try to calm a crying child who had been abused or thrown out of their house. Sometimes we had to get up (I would never let her go alone) in the middle of the night to get a kid to a shelter for safety.
She still claims it was the most demanding, stressful, but yet rewarding work she has ever done...
So...:dthumb: :dthumb: :dthumb: to you for changing your life and trying to help others

jeeps84 08-25-2006, 09:58 AM I've been saying for years that ridding motorcycles are the best high in the world. Especially Sportbikes. Glad you found my drug of choice and willing to help others that chose the wrong ones. Keep up the good work. Stay clean and safe. :dthumb:

:iagree: I get such a great feeling/rush from taking a corner just right. Deep lean and good speed. Nailing the down shift and brakes just right coming in to it. It's one of the best feelings I think.
King Bob 08-25-2006, 02:42 PM Glad to hear you made a turnaround.
