What kind of music do you listen to? I get a bunch of crap at work for the kind of music I listen to. I only listen to hardcore metal/thrash. I listen to band like Pantera, Trivium(my current favorite), Testament, Sepultura, Soulfly....and so on. Godsmack is probably the lightest stuff I listen to. The heavier the better. I am 36, college educated and people think Im crazy for listinig to this stuff. Most of the guys at work laugh and think the music I listen to is rediculous. Of cousre most of the dorks I work with, remind me of Kip from Napolean Dynomite(I'm an Aerospace Engineer). What do you think? What do you listen to? Rock on! :hawk: :hawk:

Metal. The new Lamb of God is tremendous. So is the new All That Remains, and Unearth. I also and college educated. My co-workers call it devil music and ask me why these people are so angry.

That's when you follow it up with a swift jab to their thorax and say: "They're not angry." in a very calm soothing voice.

I get all sorts of looks in the lab at school listening to my music while sitting amongst a bunch of phd's. I'll listen to anything except country and rap. But I can stand 80's rap because it's funnny (go Sugar Hill Gang!). Also, I've found that in the past few months, I have to wear ear plugs when I ride on the freeway to keep my ears from ringing... who'd a thought by the time you hit 24 all those concerts would have caught up with your hearing?

everything but Rap...country in the morning (more for the news and weather), i prefer classic country, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Hanks Willams & Jr., etc etc.. old rock on the way to work, very soothing to me... green day, nickelback, evanescence...when riding home in my car... enya and Loreena McKennit, etc at work...again, very soothing to me...also musical scores from Lord of the rings... broadway and showtunes when I am cleaning house (Les Miserable is the best!!) and currently Pinks new CD with the "Stupid Girls" song...i love it!!

Most of the time, my mood is the dictating factor for the tunes I listen to. On cool classy warm summer nights before going out I like to put on some Jazz. When I'm feeling a bit like being a dangerous I put on some gangsta' rap. Show toons are cool every now and then (Go Phantom and Westside story!) I also like Classical concertos. Brahms! Most pop music suck in general, but there are a few I like (can't leave out MJ-Ow!) Rock is cool; Led Zeppelin has got to be the best band ever I can listen to metal, country, and techno but they are scant on my playlist. Well that about sums it up for me.

I'm not picky when it comes to music but if you search my preset on my satellite radio or look in my CD case. you will find mostly alternative rock, 70's & 80's rock with a splash of modern country and Gangster Rap.

Thats what I'm banging. When I think of the most heavy hardcore metal... I think of guys burping into microphones... I like heavy metal, not stuff where you truely cannot understand a damn word... For example, I LOVE SlipKnot (at least the first two albums and yes, I CAN understand that majority of the words)... however, I cannot stand something like... The Berzerker...

Being 31, I feel I have a wide range of music. My dad was a hippy musician, so I like Jimi, The Doors, Led Zep, Sly and the Fam. I grew up listening to Huey Lewis and the News and other pop on the radio. In 6th grade my first couple tapes were B-Boys Liscence to Ill and Run DMC Raising Hell. Eventually I crossed over into metal, I used to love Anthrax, Maiden, G'N'R, Metallica. Went through a rap stage with PE, KRS, D-Nice, Ice Cube, Too Short. Got back into metal even harder with Sepultura, Pantera, Deicide, Napalm Death, Biohazzard. Eventually found the hardcore scene with Sick of it All, Madball, One King Down, Earth Crisis. Then I hit a point in my life where I wasn't angry and got into stuff like Ben Folds Five, Madonna, Dave Mathews, Elliot Smith. Now, I listen to everything good in their genre (except country, just can't hang with it). I listen to Converge and then Gnarles Barkley and then Jay-Z. Depending on the mood. Gotta like R&B, like R. Kelly, Genuine, Alicia Keys, Erykah Badu, come on now, that's great "makin' love" music. It's nice not to feel like I can only like one type of music like I did when I was younger and to enjoy anything that sound good and utilize all my musical experience. You know? Sorry it's so long. What can I say I'm a :whore:
