I wouldn't ever want to ride a bike in the middle east. Driving is nuts by itself. At least where my parents live in Dubai it is, those people take road rage to a new level.

you have to keep in mind BM, we're comparing it to driving here in the US... which the everything else the US gov't is involved in has Many, Many, Many rules and regulations... And is acutally quite boring... which is why so many bikers break soooooo many rules.

Actually based on work experience and emplyment.. I'm pretty much stuck here. That and the fact that I still have a commitment to the MI ARNG, means I can't go AWOL... Sorry, I stand by my opinion on federal gov't interference in state traffic laws, and I can't leave the USA just yet.

Hi there Gas man, thanks for the welomce :cheers: , At the moment i own a gixxer 2002 red & black with a full akarapovic system, a power commander, Yoshi drop in cams, K&N air filter, TRE. As for the gixxer 750, its got a slip on akrapovic and K&N air filter. Im trying to get a 06 busa which i plan to make it into a 1397cc for the time being to go above the 200hp then it ill see how much i can afford to shell out on it.. :)

I love the red center rims with the alum dish on the 1k! Good pics as well! The only thing I'll gig you on other than no leather pants... is at least get some over the ankle boots. Thanks Gas man :cheers: I thought long and hard on the wheels when i got it in 02 and i kept the look coz i like it. The problem is the weather here gets so hot, it is about 45 C which is i think 120F so leathers i cant do in summer, winter is more bearable which runs from Nov till July (we dont have 4 seasons here, just 2, hot and cold..lol) so we ride on those months. here is a link about Bahrain if you like http://www.bahraintourism.com/

No, the national lang is Arabic here, but everything is in two langs here arabic and english, sign boards, road signs, work is mostly in english. Ill let you in on a secret, i cant write arabic :leaving: lol, i studied here in an english school, then finished in UK. In Bahrain, we use Cars to go to work, shop and all that .. we only use Bikes for the weekend and when its winter. Alot of westerners find that wierd :scratch:

Ew... that would be hideous. I've been on a guard tower and watched 'em roll in... and you even smell 'em in your barracks, there is no sealing the sand out...

I've been through some high winds in construction zones and got blasted so bad that I could hardly see were I was going. My neck was red for getting sand blasted.:cursin: I couldn't imagine what that would be like in the desert.:yikes:

The Good thing about living on this island is we only have two seasons, summer and winter. Summer is too hot to ride a bike but the good news is that it only lasts 4 months a year. After that the weather is generally cool and great for Biking. :dthumb:

That is the general consensus on the GSXR 750s. Is there any way to "elude" the govt on that 100% tax? not really, atlist as long as you want to see the bike on the road. and there is no tracks so that open road is the only place you can use the bike.

Dont know, the next track day is in MAY, and it might be too hot as you know then the season stops until it starts again in September/November. Ill be working on the K2 1000 in the summer to get it ready for the next season , still havent sent the block to APE :( will do soon. Are you sam or adam?
