Buell 2007 xb12r Modification Questions

I've got an xb9r now, if i get the xb12r what type of modifications will i have to make to it for good stunting? Change the idle or sprorket or anything? And if i put a 12 bar and crash cage on it will it bend the engine mount or subframe? Any one had any problems with that?

A big ass sprocket will help. You'd have to have a pretty damn hard wreck to bend the frame.

I've heard they have so much damn torque as is...that they will come up pretty easy. I huge rear sprocket would amplify that effect.

I can't imagine you'd have any problems with things getting bent anymore than you would with any other stunt machine... I figure that the companies making those 12 bars and crash cages specifically to avoid bending/breaking things... And yes, go with a bigger pulley in the back...

First thins I would do is to change out the belt driven sprocket to a chain drievn one. There will be more sprocket and chain combos available and they will last longer. Most of all the Buell stunters do this. As far as the cage and 12 bar go, freestyle ingenuity make good products for all type of bikes.

I can't imagine putting a 12 bar and crash cage on a brand new bike.:idk: You do know once those items get bolted on........you can kiss the good looks of the bike goodbye. You will definately go down if you are really trying to stunt. I'm not trying to say don't stunt it, I'm simply saying think twice before you do. Get some pics up too. Before and after the mods.

I think the crash cage and 12 bar looks sweet looks sweet. I dont see why a new bike wouldn't work, just as good as a used bike and not beaten up yet. If i do some mods it will take less of a beating anyway. And i figure i'll get a better deal on one in the winter up here seeing as there sales prob drop. Side damage, I was referring to using a Buell as a stunt bike. I expected your crashed bike to be beyond repair with a broken neck. Most HD dealers still shun the Buell. Only sale and service them due to the deal Buell made with HD. Therefore, They know very little about the bikes and even less about the rest of the sport world.

I was goin like 35 and the mini van was goin like 40 when we hit head on. i couldn't go anywhere to avoid it. When i bailed out i hit the minivan right on. Broke a ton of bones and other things too... No organ damage though. Cops and news papers blamed it all on me too sayin i was doin tricks and stuff. Then like 4 weeks later the printed a small small artical sayin they were wrong. Still gave me like 8 tickets though. And now i need a new bike.

But more power to ya if thats what you want to do. People think I'm crazy because I'm putting a 12 bar and cage on my 4700$ 929. I'm hopeing to have a brand new bike within a year but it will only see wheelies and hopfully some track days, no stunting.
