Hott new boots

I've had this discussion with a few people on this forum. Riding is about me the bike and the road. I don't prove anything to anybody, and I don't dress to impress. 1st for safety, 2nd for comfort.

Kiss my @$$! I would not be caught dead in those, on or off of a bike. OK OK! Settle down there girl... I thought they were hott! Not too mention that it appears that they have some good ankle coverage. Plus with the straps and zippers they would come off in a crash either!

I NEVER wear heels, trying to ride in a boot I won't sit or walk is a recipe for disaster. You may think they're HOTT, but All I can think about looking at the foot position is how uncomfortable they're going to be to wear for more than 30 minutes. I haven't been on the bike for less than an hour EVER. Wednesday for my first solo run, I ran 90 miles in about 110 mintues (alittle of everything city, country two lane and superslab).

I'm gonna KIIIINDA have to side with Pucky on this one. They're friggin' hot boots -- don't get me wrong. I'd wear them in a heartbeat if I were going out on a Saturday night or something. But on the bike? GIVE ME A FRIGGIN BREAK! Pure insanity. Absolutely irresponsible marketing on the part of Icon. I REALIZE there are -- *ahem* -- vertically challenged women out there, and some additional height would give them better footing when riding. But there are much SAFER methods by which to gain a couple of inches. High heeled boots are NOT the answer. There ARE women's riding boots (actual high quality, armoured boots that will protect your ankles) made by SIDI that can give you up to 2" in height, without looking like you moonlight as a dominatrix (again, I like the look of the boot... but that's not the sort of look I'm goin' for on the bike :lol: ).

Those aren't riding boots, those are passenger boots. :nonod:

I just thought the boots were hot and since I obviously don't know anything about walking, riding, sitting, or anything else in heels :idk: I didn't realize that they were that bad safety wise. Next time I'll keep my *finds* to myself. :sorry:

Especially when you are posting something potentially interesting/useful to people on the forum. Those boots may not be the best if you're controlling the bike, but for passengers they should be fine... They are most surely hot, and from the description they sound like they would offer pretty good protection...

I'm not at all upset at YOU, I just think it's irresponsible on Icon's part to even present those as "riding" boots, that's all. :dthumb: P.S. :lol: Kinda relieved to know you don't have much experience riding or walking in high heels... (WOW, now there's a visual.... :wink: )

I was browsing the 2007 releases at kneedraggers at the same time. It was Gas's wise crack that they would solve my problems on the bike. When A. He hasn't seen how the bike fits me and I may not need an adjustment and B. He should know the safety issues involved. AT MSF they checked the heels on the girls boots before they let 'em ride. I guess they get hung up on the pegs and can affect the ability to shift and use the rear brake.

Wise crack? I think you need to re-evaluate your POV. I was trying to help. It was just a few weeks ago when you were talking about the bike being too high... getting the seat cut, dog bones...ect... Three Months ago I was talking about lowering the bike, and I got the Lower seat to solve the problem. A few weeks ago I was talking about how f'd up the local dealership was, and you were confused in that discussion and I explicitly stated to you that the bike was fine. I have repeatedly stated in the last six weeks that time bike height is fine. I ride by myself and am comfortable with the situation. But in the past month I have been told that I have a problem. You just stated it again. This miscommunication is a problem with my POV even though you are refering to immaginary conversations. I stepped back and decided to give TWF one more chance. And again, I'm the one having the problem. Guess it's time to leave for good.

Yikes, JP..... Last time you got upset, I really tried to talk you down from the ledge, so-to-speak... I know you're very opinionated and that's great! I am as well.... But it seems you're always feeling persecuted in one way or another, and it really just doesn't seem like that's the case. I mean, I'm sorry you feel that way, and I'm sorry you feel the need to 'pack up your toys and go home,' but I do wonder if maybe you're just taking things in the wrong way, taking them too personally, and maybe not allowing for the fact that this IS the internet, and people's tone and intention can't always be "read" in a post. Rather than jumping someone's s**t, maybe pause for a second, and consider that maybe you're mis-reading them. Just a thought... and still sorry to see you go (again). :)
