I want to pre-order mine. Anybody got an idea where they're still taking pre-orders, or am I gonna have to stand in line at Best Buy hoping to get my paws on one? I have the cash, I just need somewhere to secure one of those beasts!

The nintendo Wii is looking promising for some cool two controller motorcycle games...look it up. and only like 249$$ But my money is probably on a 360

I got 500 on the a PS3. My Christmas present from my girl.

I hardly play my PS2 so I surely can't justify the cost of the PS3... I am addicted to emulators and ROMS... Nothing beats ol' Mike Tyson's Punchout, Mario 64, and Breakout mixed with some Mortal Kombat, Galaga, and Excitebike... That being said, it looks like the PS3 should be the superior system... At least on paper and from what demos I have seen... How much of that translates into gameplay is yet to be determined... The new 'tendo is, IMO, going to make or break their success in the states... The market in Japan will buy anything that says Nintendo on it, but over here it's going to be hard to compete... that new controller better end up being the coolest thing since sliced bread...:2cents:

There was a problem with the "blue diode" for the blu-ray and so they had to cut the initial estimated supply of approx. a million units to 400,000 for the November release in the US. They are delaying Europe all together until March (or so) of '07.

Maybe keep him out of trouble and away from the bars and "juicee" girls. For those of you that don't get the reference (which is most likely everyone) a juicee girl is a dancer over in Korea. They get the name from asking, "you buy me juicee?" They'll then sit with you as long as you're buying drinks. The juice is just that. Non-alcoholic, but the price of an alcoholic drink and then some. Many of the girls are paying off their parents debt and paying for their room and board by earning money through marked up sales of watered down drinks. A lot of them are brought over from other countries with the thought they will be in the performing arts. They quickly find out otherwise and most will never pay off their contracts. Granted, some of the girls are there because they want to be, but most are not.

I've been reading that there will only be 400,000 PS3's for all of North America at launch in November. A majority of the systems being sold at launch will be the 599 version. I've called some gaming retailers and pre-orders are extremely limited, if they even take any at all. Furthermore, pre-ordering may not gaurantee you machine. Some retailers will only take pre-orders for the number of machines they know they are getting, in some cases less than 10. Other retailers are taking pre-orders now despite not knowing how many machines they'll get. The first ones to show will the get the machine - ie. if you pre-order along with 50 others and they only get 12 machines, it's first come first serve. I was hoping to pre-order to prevent camping out or waiting in a long a$$ line but it apppears it will come to that with no actual guarantee of getting one.

Yea lower the supply jack up the demand = higher prices.. 600$ for a console has gone too far. ps2 was 300 when it came out and that was nuts. I'm going to wait a while to pick up ps3 if i ever do. It's not worth all that crazy amounts of money. I'd probably only play like 1 game for a couple months then drop it for a long time... The only way I would buy a ps3 is when Tourist Trophy comes out or Gran Turismo 5 comes out. Then I can justify spending probably 400 by then..(we all know about PolyPhony's delays) Computers still look better IMO.

This will be better than PC's. Plus it has a HD DVD player. All the games are HD too. I can't wait!

I'm not sure about you guys, but here in canada I only get to ride 5-6months of the year. What the hell am I going to do for the rest of the year (other than snowmobile). F*ck the 360 and Halo. Xbox sucks the underside of my ballz. Playstation is where it's at. you're just in denial because Halo is the best multiplayer game ever. Halo 3 is going to screw sony hard, and I will be enjoying every second of it.

halo2 was like halo:combat evolved. WHICH WAS PERFECT!!! It added better graphics and more multiplayer maps. And those who say that it was too easy never tried the game on Legendary

Strangely enough people think that the companies are ripping people off... most people don't realize that when the x box came out microsoft was selling the units for a overall loss of $50 per unit... the idea was to get the console sold.. once you get the console out there people are then locked in to buying your games to play on their console... I think that companies have decided to actually try to recoup their cost plus profit now figuring that kids are so spoiled now a days that they will get what they want...
