99birdv6 09-28-2006, 09:43 PM Well, I just found out tonight that one of my friends and fellow rider passed last night. Me and Bee were sitting at Hooters eating some wings and beer when one of my other friends from the bike shop came up and told me about it. I was floored because he was a cool kid and I mean kid because he was only 21 yrs old. I was just showing him on Tuesday how to wheelie his GSXR 750 because he was too scared to try them and now he is gone. I still cant believe this. May he rest in peace.
This is from the local news.
FATAL MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT
Motorcycle Fatal
Around 11 p.m. Tuesday, a Leon County Sheriff's Office deputy was driving on Interstate 10 near Monroe Street and saw a fire in the middle of the road from a motorcycle wreck.
Witnesses say at least two bikes were traveling at speeds of least 100 miles an hour. One swerved and hit the back of a dump truck loaded with asphalt. The driver felt a jolt and pulled over and saw flames behind him.
The driver of the motorcycle was killed instantly. The other bike kept going and left the scene.
It is not known if the family has been notified yet.

I don't care if you were breaking the law or not, you stop for downed riders. Period. You may go to jail, but damn, have some respect.

Very tradgic news...but let this be reminder to us all. Traveling at those speeds on the city streets is absolutely foolish. Take it to the TRACK!!!!!!!!!!

He's sitting at home thinking about how big of a tool he is for leaving his buddy to die. Dickus.

99birdv6 10-01-2006, 12:40 PM True!

He started out on the GSXR750 and he had about 1.5 years of riding under his belt.
Gas Man 10-01-2006, 01:07 PM 1.5 yrs of riding... probably equal to 2 years up here... that's borderline as to riding that fast in traffic.... its sad... sounds like the riding skill wasnt there... It really bothers me to always hear about newbie/youngins dying on these bikes.
99birdv6 10-01-2006, 03:01 PM I just got back from the funeral and it was quite sad.
There was one thing though, I never knew he had so many hot friends. I know this is off topic, but I ad to say it.
