I put my used oil in a 5 gal bucket with lid... when full take it to the auto store and dump it in their huge bin...

99birdv6 10-01-2006, 02:59 PM The best part of all is the big swoosh that happens when first ignited. Grab a bunch of limbs, douse them in motor oil and gas. Then light a piece of stick and throw it in and it makes a nice big swoosh. :dthumb:

No, its a 12 x 6 ft pit that Bee built behind his house. Every fall and winter Sat evening, we have bonfires there. And anytime we need to burn anyting, thats where we go. So it stays like that all year long.

That's probably the biggest problem with changing your own oil. You never feel like taking it to the damn store to get rid of it. I finally had to take mine when I moved. I got there, and they told me they had a limit as to how much I could take in at one time. Luckily the guy worked around the system and took it all. Otherwise I would have had to drive to at least one more store, if not two. And I really didn't have that much. Only about 12 gallons, but they couldn't accept more than 5 in a day from one person.

I usually take mine back about every 4 times, Or take it with me when I get my cars done at the local Valvoline

It was a seriously hot fire...birdman and I started it about 1 pm on Saturday...at one point, we put a 6 ft long piece of pine tree about as thick as the one in the pic behind the pit and made it the base of the fire. The pile of coals in the daylight pic. were almost 3' tall. The fire was hot enough to melt glass "beverage" bottles in a couple of minutes...
Often we will go out on Sunday mornings and cook/serve breakfast by the pit
It was still hot at noon Sunday when Aly and I went out to clean up. We could have thrown a rake full of needles on and started again...
We pull the ashes around with a rake and spread it out around the pit and it goes out pretty quickly.

Not new rims, just had them painted to match the decals on the bike. I wanted something to stand out. I will take better pics of it when its running again.

I liked the suttlety of it all black except with a hint of the blue like in the brake lines, sticker and the stripe on the rim. IMO
