Hi, I am 25 years old, brand new to the forum and motorcycle riding. I have just bought a new Yamaha YZF600R and absolutely love it. I am still scared to death of this two wheel thing but I am becoming more comfortable from my parking lot practice. I have all of the protective gear already and am taking the MSF course asap. Other than BE CAREFUL, what can you experienced riders fill me in on to insure that I will be as safe as possible and have fun doing it.

One of the most important things you can do is ride your own pace. A lot of newbies bite it trying to keep up with their faster buddies. 2 of my friends did that the other weekend. I feel bad because they were following me. So take it at your own pace. You WILL go down if you try to stay or catch up to 'em. Another thing would be to watch out for cross walks. Those things are slippery. When you ride on surface streets, take it easy around the turns. Grease builds up over time and it sucks for us riders.

Don't want to be surprised, so better to be prepaired. The MSF course helps you get more comfortable with the "concept" of riding, so glad your taking that.:luck:
