Currently I'm riding Bridgestone Battlax BT-020's. I don't track my ride so I need the extra wear of dual-compound rubber. I had a set of Metzler MEZ4's that didn't wear all that well.
What's your preference?

Pilot sports lasted 4K miles, but gripped great.
Z6's grip seems to be right up with Pilot sports, now lets see how many miles I get out of them. Cyndi 07-13-2004, 02:38 AM I'm currently using Dunlops ShanMan14 07-13-2004, 08:01 AM Wore out Z4's which came on my K1200RS in 7K miles of spirtited riding.

As far as dual compound, my Bridgestone's are great. They made a huge difference, and I noticed immediately. They're wearing well so far as well. Big Kahuna 08-07-2004, 05:50 PM I got the best wear to grip ratio from my Avon Azaros AV45/46's (http://www.streetbikereview.com/sbr_reviews/sbr_reviews_azaro_st.shtml). Great tire for the street with nice long life. Never slipped on the street once. I'm currently checking out the BT-014's and have to say they are pretty sweet as well. They grip pretty good but slip it bit when not warmed up. Not sure on tread life, we'll have to see.
Try the Avons, you won't be sorry. Everyone who I've talked to who runs them on the street agrees, they are a great tire. | |
