HI Everyone! =) Well I am new here. I have been lurking for a very long time now, when it was very inactive and only but a few threads. I have a passion for both motorcycles and corvettes. I cruised in here from the link in the corvetteforum and have been here ever since. I never registired until now because I dont have a bike nor do I ride. I keep coming back because I have really been thinking about getting a bike and loved the threads in the every-day-riding section seeing how I could learn from experienced riders and maybe not make the same mistakes or even know what to look out for when riding on the streets. Do as much research for when I decided to start riding. What's Up! I'm Mark (Habu) and I recently bought (after much research) a '02 R1, liquid silver (sorry Yamaha Blue fans). I've always wanted a sport bike but knew that I would probably loose an appendage or something if I didn't mature (read grow older) first. My Honda Accord was driving me insane with it's social responsibility and overall blandness so I decided it was time to finally buy a bike. Actually I was tired of sitting in traffic and seeing guys split lanes. Anyways, here I am. I took the MSF beginners course and am now happily enjoying my R1. Many people that I talked to said that the R1 would be too much bike for a beginner, but in reality it's all in the wrist as well as dependant on the maturity level. Well, that's it. Thanks! :D

That's mostly gone now, I chopped the majority of it off with a dremel, but haven't gotten an eliminator kit for it yet. on the way soon though, as is a host of other cosmetic mods and "other stuff" :wink:

I'm new here also. I check out localriders.com, thumpertalk.com, and underground terrorist motorcycle cult forums quite a bit. Longer 'what's your story' post on TT if you are really freakin' bored. Don't have a 'pure' sport-bike, but a dual-sport, 1994 KLR650. First bike in 13 years, it's good to be back, early Xmas gift the day after Turkey Day. Rode it from the local Kaw dealer service dept about a mile to home on 12/22 with all the snow on the damn ground here in Ohio. :yikes: Enthusiasm is more fun than wisdom, I guess... :lol: Great site!

My name is Rory, live in The Netherlands and ride a ZX7R (NO....not the green one, but a Silver/Black one) been riding about 10years now, 6years with the 7...time to do some major tuning...and thats why i joined here...i am usually found on the ZX7 owners forum ( www.redmonkey.com/7r ) and when it gets to tuning...well..cant get a big enough crowd of experience...so betting on 2 forums is better than 1 :lol: My bike now has: Factory Pro ignition advancer +4 Factory Pro Carb Kit BMC Race Airfilter Goodridge brake lines all round Scorpion Carbon end can on stock headers Carbon front and rear hugger PFM Front discs White Power Front Fork Spring LED turnsignal mod in mirrors The famous Kawasaki vent bowl mod For the future (will begin end April) Most of the above+ 779cc Wiseco piston set high comp 1:12.5 (instead of 748cc stock 1:11) Keihin true FCR 39mm with blue stacks, in a selfmade airbox Akrapovic Race Conical full system with Tit can Dyna coils + wires Knifeedge and balance the crank Correctly timed cams (due to APE press on slotted adapters) ehumm....well thats that really... Will be reading alot here, so not to many posts in the beginning but my questions will be about cam timing, and adjustment of FCR`s (fine adjustment will be done by tuner, i want to do the general stuff) and ideas on the airbox.
