neebelung 10-26-2006, 08:47 AM So the idea of creating a sub-forum (i.e. in General Off Topic?) specifically for dating and relationships has been tossed about. Personally, I think this could be a really successful and popular area (considering the amount of relationship-related threads we've seen of late), provided everyone adheres to the same governing rules of the rest of the forum, regarding language, links and pictures.....
So what's everyone else's feeling on this? Any ideas, thoughts, suggestions?
Oh and *cough cough* I'll mod it if ya'll want...
Awesome idea!! I am here to if ya need any help nee, this should be good! specially since it is getting a lil to chilly to ride!
marko138 10-26-2006, 09:24 AM Terrrible idea. Things would turn south very very quickly and spiral outta control.:2cents:

Really? What makes you say so?
marko138 10-26-2006, 09:26 AM Really? What makes you say so?
Every other relationship thread on the forum. It quickly gets borderline acceptable.
Are you referring to ppl getting upset, or just ppl getting pervy?
marko138 10-26-2006, 09:31 AM Are you referring to ppl getting upset, or just ppl getting pervy?
Yes.
Yes.
 which one?
marko138 10-26-2006, 09:34 AM  which one?
Both. I know you guys have the best of intentions but I dont see it working out as planned.
neebelung 10-26-2006, 09:39 AM Are you referring to ppl getting upset, or just ppl getting pervy?
I'd say pervy.
And I can see where it'd have that potential, so we'd just have to make sure the rules were VERY VERY CLEAR from the get-go. But while this crowd can get borderline, they're all, for the most part, pretty good, and I think would be fine.
ShanMan14 10-26-2006, 09:56 AM This is a sportbike forum. We offer an Off Topic area to discuss anything not relating to sport bikes.
While it may be a popular idea, that's not our "core" competency or goal for this site.

Good point. :)
I think it's just natural to develop a certain kinship and bond with people with whom you already share a common bond (i.e. riding) and therefore are more apt to feel open to discuss things of a personal nature and seek out their advice.
But no biggie... was merely an idea. :)

There's also no less than 4 MySpace-type sites for riders/enthusiasts now...

I don't recall what the biker dating sites are.... But yeah Cycle Space has actually taken off... there's also www.cityblockz.com (it's more geared toward stunnas), www.bikerworlds.com (more geared toward cruisers)... I can't think of the other ones....

Hey man, glad you sucked it up and chose to stick around... Don't let the ball bustin' get to you :dthumb:...
I got some advice that will help you out a little and help us out as well... Right next to the quote button is the multiquote button... You can click on that, it will turn red, then when you get to where you want to reply, you can select reply at the bottom of the screen and all the quotes you selected will show up in your message in the order in which you made it. It's really cool... You can even go through multiple pages selecting quotes and it will remember them! Ch... che... Check it out...:twfrox:

itgirl25 10-26-2006, 09:18 PM let's face it, guys don't like to talk feelings (with the exception of 1BadCBR). perhaps we should keep the relationship woes in the ladies section. i'd be happy to lend an ear and receive others input on issues. :dthumb:
