You keep your head down and kind off hop kick while punching down around the pit. It's kind of old school NY punk in it's roots.

When I was first going to shows (Pantera, Biohazzard, Metallica, etc...) it was fun. Everyone was cool, you'd headbang and just run around like crazy bumping into everyone and pushing off. When I got into hardcore and started going to those shows (Sick of it All, Hatebreed, Madball, etc...) it was more of a dance circle and then just run through swinging, but not trying to get hurt. Someone would freestyle in the center for a little bit and people would give him room. Then it seemed to go more towards everyone all wanting to freestyle (usually karate style) at once, so you end up getting a foot to the crouch or something. This spring I was in Huntington Beach CA at a punk show. It was small, but a few times I ran throught the pit spin kicking and sh#t and a couple guys pulled me a side and was like "that sh#t's not cool here" They were nice about, more like informing me rather than threatening, but it was kind of funny how different the scene was. The bands were all like Rancid 80's punk style. Circle pit style, where everyone jsut runs around the pit in a circle real fast brushing up against the edges, like this chicks style.

Me too... I think its :gary: I still think it's fun to go to a show, but I definately feel old. Like when I go skateboarding with my kids at the skate park. I couldn't even picture working a club at 40 like jetski was talking about.:nonod:

I know about the x's haha....But it came about from the fact that underage people were marked with the X in clubs....Edge people picked this up and started to mark the X even if they were of age....And so it began.
