saverok 12-16-2006, 08:01 PM Ok I was on my home from work today there is the long line of traffic. As usual i'm hating it. Trying to get home man long hours during the holidays.
But then I feel real bad because I start to see all of the blue lights up ahead. As we get up to the cop cars I see an old lady in the back of the car. I didn't wonder long what had happend because you see this white lincoln parked blocking the lanes. Underneath the lincoln was a HD.
Poor guy never new what hit him. They had him covered with the tarp.......
:sorry: just doesn't cover people that have no business driving cause they can't watch out for others.
Heres to another fellow biker down :angelhap:

jtemple 12-16-2006, 10:52 PM That's why I think everyone 65+ years of age should get a full driving exam annually. Written test, driving, the works. Most cagers that "didn't see" (i.e. didn't look) me are elderly.
Crazy250 12-16-2006, 11:13 PM shame to hear that. Like that 70 year old man that plowed through a farmer's market... killed something like 12 ppl...
RIP
JK_DILLA 12-16-2006, 11:18 PM reminds me of last week when i was at the DMV, the lady before me went up to the desk and was told to read the first line in the viewer. She said "what line?" As in she didnt see any lines of letters what so ever. the clerk stopped and said "have you been driving?" Sure enough she has been gracing our streets nearly blind... great.
RIP

70? The guy who drove two blocks through the market killing all those people was like 85. And he got no jail time because he was too frail.

Gas Man 12-17-2006, 09:24 PM RIP Rider!
mondos06cbr1000 12-18-2006, 12:31 AM 2 years ago some old guy in my town was picking up his granddaughter at our elementary school, and accidentally stepped on the gas and plowed into a crowd of little kids and parents, 2 kids are now amputees and one adult
he injured like 10 people, no one died
but i have no problem in setting a age limit for people driving, their reaction time slows down, they cant see or hear as well as they could in the years before, and they drive cars that are heavier than an abrams tank
bumblebee 12-18-2006, 08:26 AM We had a guy hit in town yesterday...

Man in critical condition after crash
Roderick Fisher, 33, was taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital and listed in critical condition after being struck by a van, police said.
Tallahassee Police Lt. Brian Donaldson said the crash happened around 11 a.m. today near Alabama and Birmingham streets.
Fisher, who will be turning 34-year-old on his birthday tomorrow, was heading westbound on his motorcycle on Birmingham Street when he was struck by 63-year-old Roosevelt Adams as he was turning from Alabama Street, Donaldson said.
The vehicles collided causing Fisher to be ejected from his motorcycle and hit a telephone pole.
Donaldson said Fisher suffered severe injuries to his back and internal bleeding.
An investigation is still in the works and charges may be pending, Donaldson said.

Because you were at Shell Point groveling...
So...How much trouble are you in???
smileyman 12-18-2006, 11:55 AM There should be a specific age limit where you have to undergo a periodic review for your license. Maybe a tiered age...Like 65 you need to requalify ever 2 years, and then 75 you need requalify ever year...Not a full battery of tests, just a simple eye, ear, and reflex test...

That should be done regarless of age. THere are young people who drive no better than feeble senior citizens.

And you wonder why us old guys, like some of us on here, think the US should have stricter testing and a tiered licensing system...so 17 year olds can't jump on 'busas for their first bikes...
and the scale balances...old people with many years of experience and slowing reaction times...and youngsters with little/no experience and good reactions...

TOMMYTOM 12-19-2006, 10:02 AM I consider myself a good driver- I'm attentive and I'm concious of whats going on around me. The problem is not that people can't drive... driving is easy... the problem is that a large majority of people just don't give a damn. I see so many inconsiderate a$$hats- talking on the phone, reading, riding in the left lane, tailgating, ect ect. It all stems from personality- self centered people are the wave of the future... if you don't believe me- go take a drive and watch these losers. :cursin:
