Both Bostroms cut their teeth on the old AMA 883 class, and hauled ass for what they were riding. A properly set up 1200 Sporty (like the Storz Performance bikes, for example) can embarass many a Sportbike pilot. Not too proud to be speaking from experience...

Sportys are fun in a raw, basic way. Not over-teched, not a couch like an Electra or Road King, and pretty much say you don't give a ****e what others think a proper bike is.

Dare you to ride one for a full day and say you didn't enjoy it. Well, I wouldn't expect you to like the stock seat. Freaking torture rack...

Thank god the tide changed i was getting :scratch: :scratch: yes harleys and cruisers are slower than our crotch rockets but i will ride anything with two wheels and be happy and want a cruiser in my stable also for the days when i just want to be slow and cruise around with the wifey right now i would give my left nut to ride anythimg even a sportster with I think it:skep: s bad ass after the owners make it their own this site is killing me it's two wheel forum TWO WHEEL I love the twisties but seriously who gives a shii if you can go through em at a high rate of speed and get a few track days in wooowwwww we will never ride professionally so woopdy doo were faster than harley and cruisers so lets trash our fellow motorcyclists for having a passion for motorcycles but since they chose in our streetbike dictatorship the wrong bike:scratch: :scratch:

Buells are fun as hell. Especially now that they can run for more than 2000 miles continuously without grenading something really expensive...

Its all in the maintance with the HD or S&S V-twins. Sure they could design out those flaws but then they would loose one of the most important things...

You are right about the motors, they do take a little more care. I think the Revolution will change all of that though...

I was referring to some of the baffling troubles that Buells had as little as 5 years ago. Motor mounts breaking and subsequently unplugging the main wiring loom. Bodywork mounting tabs breaking resulting in oscillating fairings and tail sections. Shoddy welds on subframes breaking. Just odd stuff.

The bugs have been worked out for a few years now, and I would seriously consider buying one. Only as a second or third bike, but I think they are worth the dough now...

Remember the original RR1000? It looked gawdawful, handled on par with most bikes of the day, and blew itself to shreds regularly. But, you gotta take your hat off to Erik for sticking with it.

Now, just wait until he gets his hands on the V-Rod motor. Those will be some SERIOUS bikes to contend with...

Yes its true. I dont really hate Harleys. I just see them for what they are. They are coming back around as far as the problems they are known for. But I still wouldn't buy one. A buell is a buell...not a Harley. They are fun as all hell. Handle awesome, stop well, and the torque...:drool:

Actually no...it'll be on its way out. I might be done with I4's...atleast for now. I dont need that top end. I want the power where I can use it. Down low and mid range. I've got no business going 175 mph.
