i'd like to get a personalized plate for my harley, i already have one on the car and kawi. but i am burned out of clever ideas. let's see what you fine folks can come up with using only 5 letters. it's harder than you think...:dthumb:

Ummmm... how about "SLOWR" (since it is, in comparison to the ZX6R). Or "BOB" or "MYBOB" (since vibrations on a H-D are significant..... )

itgirl25
12-24-2006, 08:45 AM
 :dthumb: good ones. i like SLOWR. maybe i should just do VIBR8 or VBR8R? do you think dmv would pass that?

 That'd be hysterical, but the chances of sneakin it by the censors at the DMV are slim. No kidding. I tried to register STOLEN for my (free) Buell, but they said it was "not allowed". That's the only explanation I got even though it did not violate the stated rules regarding vulgarities, etc. :idk: I didn't both trying to register for anything else, although I briefly considered registering for N370L5 and hanging it upside-down.

pay homage to the site and make it "ItGrl" i had thought about that. i won't rule that out. I Say you get plates for both bikes.... kawi can read "BIKE1" Harley can be "BIKE2" that's cute as well. maybe i can get hubby to get his plate to say HIS and mine to say HERS. fat chance, probably.

how did you get a free Buell? A nearby dealership was liquidating their inventory and letting XB12 bikes go for half-price. ($6K out the door!) I bought the last 3, sold 2, and kept 1.

why can't I find deals like that? right place right time and having the funds to jump on the deal.

right place right time and having the funds to jump on the deal. :jacked: Yeah, I still can't believe the sale lasted long enough for word to reach me. I don't think it hurt the dealership any... According to their website the local cops trade in their service Harleys for new ones every year for $1. :yikes: So I didn't get police pricing, but it pretty much worked out to that in the end. So bash on Buell all you want - I got my money's worth. itgirl, you could always get VRSCR. The H-Ders would get it. (But don't be surprised if it's already taken. Also, be sure whatever you choose cannot be construed as an alternate meaning. Case in point, my friend is a certified Vette nut who owns a 2000 Magnetic Red coupe. His first tag read Y2KMGRD, but everyone thought it meant something about being an IT manager (which he is) and the whole Y2K bug thing. So since only the Vette crowd got it, he traded it in for the more obvious VTFNATC (or something close to that). Now whenever we want to bust his nuts, we refer to him as the "Vermont Fanatic".

Here's the winner: "F U". Mass registry won't allow "vulgar" plates... they took away a guys plates that said "TOPLES" but channel 5 news brought up the story and brought up the point that the car was a convertable mustang and it was a TOPLESS car so the DMV reissued him the same plates...

sneaky. i like it. :dthumb: Yeah, but it only works in states that have front plates, which does not apply to motorcycles. Anyway, I'm sure they've all heard of that one. Click here (http://www.snopes.com/photos/risque/license.asp) to see one of my favorites. The funny part is that it was not ordered on purpose by someone clever. Rather it was a completely random tag registered to a company car.
