my days are numbered...

only 8 days left for me before i start nursing school. class is from 8-4 everyday. that's gonna be quite an adjustment for me from my usual daily routine, not to mention it'll seriously cut in to my TWF time. it's a pretty intense 1 year program that will consume most of my waking hours...at least so i've been told. promise me y'all will still remember me in my absence. i'll be sure to check in ocassionally. who needs sleep anyways? i'm sure i'll have withdrawal symptoms. maybe i should start detoxing myself now. :lol: :dthumb:

Congrats. My mom did the same thing in 1959. I was nine then and when I had off from school she would take me to her school at the hospital. Back then the nurses would wear stylized caps that would show what school you graduated from. She would starch it and then fold it into shape. It was flat on the table when I came in and spilled grape juice on it. Good luck, it's a great career.

I did the same thing some years ago when my son was born. I entered an electronics program that required me to attend class every day 6-10, Monday thru Thursday for a year and a half which included working full time. Weekends were required sometimes, depending on material covered and/or weather conditions. It was tough and I missed the first year and half of my son's child hood but I don't regret it. I wish you luck. No matter how tough it may get, the time you will invest, the time you may lose with loved ones, the ultimate goal is always within reach.

thanks everyone for all the support. i won't disappear completely, but i will miss all the time i spend around here. it's not forever though, and i will always have time on the weekends to get my TWF fix. it's coming up fast...5 days and counting. :dthumb:

whew! i made it through the first day alive. not too bad, but then we really didn't do anything today. the instructor did start lecturing today, so i got to brush up on my note taking skills (and boy do i need it). he doesn't write anything on the board and says what he lectures is prone to being on the test (and it's not in the book). how on earth do i make sure i get everything i need wrote down? i am finding myself writing down everything he says! i need to learn shorthand or something... mods...now that i am underway, feel free to :lock: this thread when it outlives it's usefulness.
