*** Reputation comment images ***

Please note the amendment to the rule regarding posting inappropriate images - It now includes reputation comments. While user reputations are private, inappropriate images posted there still pose a risk for those viewing TWF at work, just as much as the open forums. We strive to maintain a work-friendly site, where the majority of our traffic originates. If we allow nude and/or offensive images, we risk being blocked by corporate proxy servers. If you receive a reputation comment with an inappropriate image, please notify a moderator so we may delete the image and issue infractions if warranted. Thanks! :cheers:

Yes and sense for some un-known reason Shan and myself are the only mods with the ability to alter reps. Please PM either of us to get this done for you. This has been a standing offer by me from day one of rep images. Many have already took advantage of it.

Sure, the pics are 'only' in the rep comments, but what if someone isn't expecting an image to be in there, and happens to open it up at work? (for me, not a big deal, as I'm friends with the network admins, but others might be in a stricter environment).

It's not about getting anyone in trouble, and whatever is already there can stay there unless someone specifically asks to have something removed. Bottom line is that we cannot control who views what and where. Even if a member ONLY views his CP in the privacy of his own home, we can't control that. There are plenty that almost exclusively view this forum from work. If an HR representative was looking over your shoulder and saw a nude pic, what would they think? I'm sure the argument that "only you" could see it wouldn't take you anywhere but the HR office. Not only that, do you want nude images cached in your temporary internet files for the IT Security gurus to find? It just makes no sense any way you slice it. The forum is not a medium for distribution of porn or inappropriate images. If you want that bad enough, we all know how to email or find thousands of porn sites on the web. If you choose not to abide by these rules, there are other motorcycle sites on the internet that allow profanity and porn, but this isn't one of them. Afterall, this a sportbike site. :cheers:

The site would keep going with or without the rep imagers, it did before the reps existed. This is the basic principal behind the managment side of life. And you have to understand what Shan is saying... the LAST thing we want is to have work servers blocking TWF like they do on soooo many other sites. I mean do the math... what would happen if Dlit, Marko, and myself could post at work? The board would loose a huge chunk of action. Lost bandwidth and site hits means loosing sponsors which in the end means loosing the site as a free place for us to chat.

Actually its more of a look out for you and surfing at work. Admitly most peeps surf TWF from work. Most companies have strict rules for internet and images. Further there are many sites that are blocked from work. PB, myspace, break, ect... Shan does not want TWF to become one of them. That happens and he looses bandwidth and usage of the forum and that costs him advertisement money. So if we want to keep TWF free of charge to use, we need to try to keep it clean.
