Besides Photobucket, what's a good one that will work here? I exceeded my bandwidth at PB. Not entirely sure what that means.
I need a good place to host images and what not. Help.DLIT 01-30-2007, 03:34 PM Besides Photobucket, what's a good one that will work here? I exceeded my bandwidth at PB. Besides that. I want a photobucket type thing for my URL pics and .gifs. Rae 01-30-2007, 03:42 PM see my second post... NONE_too_SOFT 01-30-2007, 03:42 PM image shack has gotta be my favorite, i love thier toolbar. neebelung 01-30-2007, 03:47 PM Besides Photobucket, what's a good one that will work here? exceeding your bandwidth (if I understand it correctly) merely means that your images are being viewed a LOT (i.e. you've got the same image posted up on a bunch of forums, or a bunch of times) You've got a certain allottment of bandwidth per month, so whenever your month renews (as I'm not sure if it's by calendar month) you should be okay.
Another option is (if you've got a Yahoo mail or a gmail account) simply sign up for another email account, and start a second Photobucket account from that email account. DLIT 01-30-2007, 03:50 PM Image shack is the only promising one, but I have to install a certain tool bar and I don't want to on government computer. Maybe I'll just create a new account on PB. neebelung 01-30-2007, 03:53 PM Maybe I'll just create a new account on PB.
If you decide to go that route, and you've got a Yahoo mail account, you're allowed (with your standard free Yahoo account) to create one additional email address under your main screenname (so you don't have to remember two logins/two passwords... ). Just create your 2nd PB under that email address.. makes life much simpler. KillerR33d 01-30-2007, 03:57 PM how about imageshack? you can upload for free and do direct linking with HTML through it no bandwidth issue as far as i know of...jus me :2cents: saverok 01-30-2007, 03:58 PM or you can erase some of your old pics that are posted on here. that will free up some of the bandwidth. DLIT 01-30-2007, 04:24 PM I just created a new one.

tool bar is in no way mandatory, just a handy add on. The CP for Image shack is so easy to use and snag pics from it sickens me. Gas Man 01-31-2007, 07:30 AM I seen that the other day... how in the hell did you use up all your PB bandwidth?
Imageshack...sucks balls. Everytime I go there from a link... my pop up blocker goes crazy! Rider 01-31-2007, 07:33 AM Everyone needs to switch to imageshack. You guys must be crazy?!?!
To upload pic all i need to do is click "upload" button on my toolbar, select the file, and a tab comes up in firefox with about 8 different ways i can copy the URL. and its saved in my picture file, so i can access it in seconds from anywhere, how does it get easier than that? neebelung 01-31-2007, 12:01 PM You guys must be crazy?!?!

Photobucket isn't any more difficult than that, and you can also upload a whole slew of pics all at once if you want (not to mention video... last I checked -- though they might have changed -- IS didn't offer that).
I can see where if you just wanted to toss up a funny pic to use one time in a thread, and just needed it up there really quick, then IS would be ok... but if you're wanting to store pics, post them multiple times, multiple places, etc... then PB is far and away the better choice. :dthumb: NONE_too_SOFT 01-31-2007, 12:03 PM you say potato i say potato..... Nah I knew whatcha meant, and I agree... and that's why there ARE multiple (successful) photo hosting sites, and everyone has their faves. The reason it is blocked is because PB is catogorized as "User Defined Catagory 9" Its the same reason YouTube is blocked. If it was for inapprorate images it would be labled as "Provacative Attire" ShanMan14 01-31-2007, 12:56 PM The reason it is blocked is because PB is catogorized as "User Defined Catagory 9" Its the same reason YouTube is blocked. I stand corrected.
Everyone knows "User Defined Category 9" is even worse. I'm going to have to write a policy about that now. ;) Rider 01-31-2007, 12:58 PM I stand corrected.

I guess I was wrong, its not fixed.
