Surgery

Well i had ear surgery monday andf out of school for a week off the bike for at least a month. I couldnt even pout a helmet on without rippin out 15 stitches. I had a punctured hole in my eardrum which they patch by cutting behind my ear and flapping it over to do the operation. Im sittin here on vicadin which dont get me high at all and sharing my story. Not looking for sympathy because i know where to find it.

Damn man...that sounds painful. How did you get a hole in the eardrum?

vicadin isnt supposed to make you high. its supposed to be a pain killer. now when you add drinkin in to the equation it somehow makes it a lot better. sorry bout your ear bud, specially since you live in cali and could be ridin

i've had 10 surgeries on my ears since I was like 5 years old, about 6 of which are timpano plasti (sp?) which is the same as you had. thats what they call it when they patch a hole in the eardrum using some skin (or synthetic material). my left one still hasnt healed, I'm scheduled to have another one on March 2nd. it sucks, you can't hear sh*t from that ear for like 5 weeks. I might even postpone that procedure again. it really sux b/c i pretty much can't ride for a month either. So TRUST me man, I FEEL YOUR PAIN. although to be honest it usually wasnt that physically painful for me. but then I am a seasoned veteran... :lol:

And may i ask why so many surgeries.

wow what does it feel like to have your eardrum pop? sounds painful... the skin on my eardrum never takes the graft. so I have to do it over and over. the right eventually took and its fine/normal now, but the left still isnt up to spec. my hearing is good enough for me but it could be better.

I was a pitcher in baseball and caught a line drive :cry: Damn that would suck. I was playing homerun derby in college...pitching...and took a line drive in the face. It hurt. But didn't break anything...just a fat lip.

Is that going to effect your "pitching" with the girlfriend? If so I'll be more than happy to fill in... :lol:

ill live and yes it hurts like **** when your eardrum pops blood comes out from your ears and it feel fantastic! o yea and btw the one ear is going to look wider that the other like one is bigger than the other 1 for about 4 mos lol

just keep that helmet on as long as you can bro, or tell people you're a freak of nature.

Not looking for sympathy because i know where to find it. tell your doctor the vicodin doesn't work and he will probably give you percocet it gets you high but very addictive beware..:whistle: :sorry: you're in pain get well soon..:hug:

OUCH! i just got off vicodin for my back..your body starts to get immune to it..had to take 1500mg to make the pain go away....

yea i was takin 1000mg every 4 hours and im down to about 500 mg every 4 now

dude is going to be a fabulous weekend to ride here in Cali man....but get well quick ...:cheers:
