BOSTON - At least nine suspicious electronic devices forced a shutdown of highways and bridges around Boston on Wednesday in what a cable network said was part of a publicity campaign for a cartoon.
Police Commissioner Ed Davis confirmed that authorities were investigating whether the devices were planted as part of a by Turner Broadcasting’s Cartoon Network.
In a statement issued Wednesday afternoon, Turner Broadcasting said the packages are "magnetic lights that pose no danger."
The statement says the devices are part of an outdoor marketing campaign in 10 cities. The campaign was in support of the animated television program "Aqua Teen Hunger Force."

TATER 02-02-2007, 09:07 AM in boston's defense .... the guys that put the signs up strapped them to bridges mostly... now a days post 9/11 people are wuick to point out anything that might be an issue... there was also one anthrax report and there were 2 pipe bombs reported as well the same day.... that kind of set off a stronger response...
originally people didn't think someone would use a plane as a giant missle to hit the world trade centers so who knows maybe terrorist F@#*s are into adult swim... what better way to make a bomb then to make it look like something else...
I am sure everyone has heard about the craziness about the ad campaign that got the two guys in trouble, but has anyone looked on ebay for these things. They were going for some good cash. Seemed to have calmed down and just going for a couple hundred now.
