I purchased this CD I love, and I want to use a portion of it for a Ring Tone. My Celly is actually a hand-held PC using Windows for pocketPC. I can't download ring tones, I have to copy the appropriat clip it can be a .wav, .mid or .wma file into the correct folder on my hand-held, then select it as my ringtone through windows. What's the best way to record the clip?

i'd recommend goldwave:

kinda hard to get the hang of but its what i use to cut sound clips. just open up the song in goldwave, crop it, and save in whatever format u need.

Get a new celly that can download ring tones like real people?
copy it to a music file like wma, mp3, etc... and send it to someone that can work audio software to extract the clip and put it in the correct format. I believe windows media player has some plugins that will let you copy cds to mp3.

I already have the CD ripped to my hard drive in the MP3 format. I just need to cut out the chunk I want to play as a ring tone. I need freewear or someone who can crop out the chunk I want.

I can do it later tonight. Just send me approx. what time you want it to begin, what time you want it to end and what format you needed it in. Going out to dinner in a sec, so can't do it right now.
reactortrip (at) gmail.com is a good place to send the mp3 file

Pucky... is the song mainstream? What cell carrier are you using? I have a free music log on that can send music to your cell... I could send them to you free of charge...
