ladies boots?

Hi all, just bought a 07 gsxr 600 for my girlfriend and myself. Girlfriend never rode a bike and she wants to learn. I want her to be safe as possible, since i know what it feels like to crash and burn:willy: The problem is that she is 5'4 and is hard as hell to buy safty gear for her. We finally picked out the Icon helmet, joe rocket trixie pants (perfect fit) but when it came the the boots, nothing i can find. She wears a size 6-7. Got any sugestions? Ive seen the Sidi boots, any others. Thanks all:dthumb:

Hi and :welcome: , and thank you for showing concern for your GF's safety in wanting to have her properly geared-up. :dthumb: Most of the major manufacturers make women's specific boots anymore, and a size 6-7 would be really common/easy to find. It really depends what style boot she prefers... if she likes more of a casual boot look, SIDI does have several great options, including some that are waterproof, and others that till give her up to 2" in height. Alpinestars Stella (I think its the SMX3) offers more of a race-type boot, with superior protection. Teknic also has race-styled boots for ladies. And Icon, Joe Rocket and Teknic also have street/casual styled boots (lace up, lower/chunky sole) if that’s what she’s looking for.

:welcome: and :iagree: You can also find a few mens boots that may come small enough, these are the ones I am looking at...and reasonably priced...the Setup Vision boots, they only make the black ones small enough for me (Size 6.5-7.5) http://www.motonation.com/assets/250/00000393.jpg and I think several of the mens Joe Rocket SMX boots are made small enough as well...

Pucky had got some SMX-3's recently. Hopefully she'll chime in on how the fitment is. They're a mans boot, I think, and she just got a real small size.

Remember if he's saying 6-7 womens sizes, he's talking 37-38 Euro. The SMX-3's Dlit procured for me are a 37, I wear a womens 6, and they're a little fun to get on, but once they're on..OMG they are sooooo comfortable. Watch it if you get her a more "touring" type of boot (like the Sidi womens line) the don't have the precurved ankle that the race boots have and are for more of a cruiser style ride. I have a pair of Nitro gortex waterproof things for cooler weather, and on longer rides (over 2 hours) the shin shield does dig into my ankle/foot. Here's a pic of the two boots, and you can see from the line of the shin that one is more relaxed (cruiser ride) and one is more agressively forward (race ride) since she'll be on a sportbike, the foot / leg position favors the race boots. Some of the cruiser boots (if they have good ankle /shin protection) will not be comfortable to ride more than an hour. I'd find a reletively cheap pair for around town, when you want a semi protective casual boot, but for longer or serious riding, go with a race boot. http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g60/justpucky/mall.jpg

I have Sidi boots but they're not full out race style. I actually just got them yesterday and wore them today. They were only $150 from Chaparral Motorsports and they're very comfortable and easy to wear all day. My only complaint is that they should be angled forward more like the more expensive boots because when you bend them it gets kind of annoying. Other than that I like those, it's nice that it has padding where the levers would be, I've only worn mine once and they're already showing signs of wear because there's nothing there.

Hmm.. I don't have them with me at the moment but I believe it was like 5 inches or so above my ankle. They're great boots, I'm happy with them since I didn't have the extra hundred or more for race style boots. Very comfy too, I wore them for about 3 or 4 hours with no problems. I know my mx boots are not that comfortable unless you have thick socks so these are better. :dthumb:
