looking into buying some leathers, but the regular fit leather pants look like crap. I know I know, fashion isnt everything ( I always wear my gear), but like to look nice too
where do I find low-rise leather pants?Blondie 02-24-2007, 01:19 PM looking into buying some leathers, but the regular fit leather pants look like crap. If you are talking proper riding gear... I'm not sure it can be both. Icon or Power Trip might be your best bets. 1BadCBR 02-25-2007, 10:55 AM Check out this site, it may help you out. One time I rode in low-rise jeans and my A* jacket and I had a 2" area across my lower back with a bad sunburn - I could only imagine if I had gone down. jalaan1 02-25-2007, 07:38 PM wow, nice mental picture
lol. Rae 02-25-2007, 07:57 PM I'm with Pippi on that one, if you butt/lower back aint covered, literally, you run the risk of serious rash if you go down...
that said, the the best pants I have seen that are remotely fashionable are the Joe Rocket Trixie and the Icon Bombshell...I have the trixie's and they are higher than I wear my jeans typically but are much lower than the other riding pants I have seen out there that look like 80's style under your armpits high
I should be getting the Icon Bombshell pants this week and will be able to tell you about those later!!! 1BadCBR 02-25-2007, 09:21 PM :nopicsbs: TOMMYTOM 02-25-2007, 09:36 PM looking into buying some leathers, but the regular fit leather pants look like crap. thanx chica. I'll check them out. I'm aware of the risk, but like u wrote, "that look like 80's style under your armpits high" lol. I have a permanently tanned crescent for the little bitty section between my jacket and my jeans, from the times I didn't secure my jacket loops to my belt. :cursin:

Moreso than just your a$$ gettin' rashed, think about this: lowrise jeans/pants sit at your widest point... meaning, they come off really easy (think about it... pants that fit at the waist have to be unbuttoned/unzipped before you can take them off... pants that fit at the hip can oftentimes slide right off without being undone)... Translate this to a pavement slide, and you could feasibly lose your leathers altogether in the event of a slide... it won't just be your bum gettin' rashed. :nonod: Low 02-26-2007, 07:23 AM Ok Ouch Nee...:willy:

Yeah... let me know if you come accross any boots that Uma might like. She still needs a riding boot. itgirl25 02-27-2007, 08:47 AM Yeah... let me know if you come accross any boots that Uma might like. She still needs a riding boot.
i wish her luck. i went with the icon superduty2 boots because that is practically all that is out there that doesn't look like a total cruiser boot, not that it matters now that i have a cruiser too. now it's either those or my A* (which don't get much play from me because i don't always want a boot up to my knee). i'd like something like a 3/4 race style boot, but apparently only men desire those because that's who they are offered to. :cursin:
the superduty2 does the job. it is a bit wide in the toe box and not much cushion in the sole, but it serves the purpose for the more casual style i was looking for. it was either that or order mens boots 2 sizes smaller than i normally wear. but i fear they'd be a bit too wide for me doing that. perhaps someday i'll find just what i am looking for. :idk:
i can totally see your wife sportin' those boots you posted up for pucky that time. Rae 02-27-2007, 08:59 AM I just ordered the Setup vision boots for men, they make them small enough for me to wear (EUR 38), they are sposed to be a street/racing boot. Maybe something like that?
My friend has those ICON boots GM had posted for Pucky, she says they really arent much different than any other boots she wears for riding, i.e. not harder to ride in. itgirl25 02-27-2007, 09:01 AM I just ordered the Setup vision boots for men, they make them small enough for me to wear (EUR 38), they are sposed to be a street/racing boot. that's exactly what i am talking about. let me know how they fit when you get them, if they are wide, etc. :dthumb: Rae 02-27-2007, 09:02 AM I'll post a full review!! Yep, I know :bash: I went out intending to go for a short trip (thts why I had jeans on instead of the leathers) but then ended up spending the afternoon in the twisties after meeting up with everyone and didnt realize the gap from the pants to the jacket until after the fact. The sunburn alone was painful, let alone the thought of "a hell'ov a beauty mark"!!! itgirl25 02-27-2007, 01:50 PM Itgirl... what cruiser boots did you find? Got any links?

tell me what you think of these boots. they are kinda a cross between street/sport. it doesn't say anything about any kinda ankle protection though, so i don't know how safe they'd be. they look decent though.
sidi summer rose (http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/item.aspx?style=10964&department=125&division=1) Rae 02-27-2007, 02:24 PM hey girl, those boots I got that I sent you the link for, they are also made by SIDI...
and for cruiser boots, you can find a good pair of harness boots like the ones made by harley at places like a department store etc, I have really nice harness boots that I ride in right now that would be better suited for cruiser bikes, they are super study, tall enough and strong enough to provide great protection!! I got them at Dillards on sale for about $60, they were originally $120, i got black and brown i love them so much!! itgirl25 02-27-2007, 02:37 PM :iagree: you can get authentic harley davidson boots at our local Super Shoes for under $100.
thanks for the link/pic, rae! i wish i woulda stumbled on those boots before i bought the 2 pair i got. i probably woulda went that direction instead. oh well, that's the breaks i guess. i definately don't need another pair at this point though, unless i sell some first. fnfalman 02-27-2007, 02:50 PM For cruiser-style boots, check out Red Wing boots. They don't have ankle protection the way a SIDI street/sport boot would have but they would be a lot better than the typical low-quality cruiser boots. I have a pair of Red Wing male cruiser boots that I took a high side on. Barely any scratches on the toes (I was asphalt body surfing on my chest).
My sister-in-law has a pair of SIDI Rose boots and they look stylish not to mention very functional. She can shift easily and she can walk around on them all day long. The cruiser boots are definitely not made for walking around for extended periods of times.
As far as low-ride riding pants; either denim or leathers, for women...I dig it!!! But then I'm not the one that wears them and might have to crash while wearing them.
BMW has pants in both leathers, quasi-denim and textiles that are more or less "stylish" yet functional for women. The pants are not too low ride and not too high ride.

Me too when I ride to work so that I don't have to change boots, but I usually wear the riding boots when I go riding for fun.
I don't mind wearing heavy work boots for street riding but the damn laces are a pain in the wazoo.
