I voted for the ducati because you spelled it wrong and nobody else will probably vote for it. As far as stock bikes are concerned I would go with the gsx-r 1000 the magazines get hte best quarter mile et's with it so....:idk:

I voted Busa because the aftermarket is enormous for it.............But my honest/biased opinion is the R1 the mid range hit is like no other out there.

I've seen a turbo busa on the 1/4mile, and all I can say is DAMN!!!!!!!!!! Also, why no cruiser style bikes? I'm going to get slammed for this, but what's wrong with the V-rod on the 1/4? A bit of work and that's one quick bike.

:iagree: a guy with one leg, on a newer harley w/some mods, sent me packing one time on a 1/4 mile run. as far as crotchrockets, i'd go with a busa, and no i don't know why.

What makes this thread even more crazy is I actually like the V-rod....for a Harley. Although I'd never buy one. There are better bikes for less money.

To learn on? You can't beat an early 80's Suzuki GS 1100, or even better, a GS 1150. And they make kits to bore it out to 1300cc.

for bracket racing, id say a busa or the 14. u can ride it to the track, it doesnt cost $30k like that over priced v-rod destroyer, and if u can ride, youll smoke that destroyer, becuz that v-rod isnt that fast, ESPECIALLY taking into account how much it costs. if u wana run a class, like super comp or super gas, id say a 80's kawi or suz, u can build one of those for really cheap

that Vrod has a maintanance schedule that would keep 95% of riders from wanting to deal with the headache just to rip off some 9 second passes that most ppl could make it do...(pros are in the 8's on it right?) Its gotta have clutch adjustments like every two passes....and if its a wet clutch thats a oil change every two passes... I'm sure it also wont see 50,000 miles between rebuilds... more like 5K mi. Initial cost wouldnt be anything compared to keeping it running.

Last season we raced the GSXR 1000 and I think with the numbers it puts down, you cant be wrong to say that is the answer for this one. The best quarter mile ET's were proven last season with the 1000, the only mod that was done was lowering it. This season we are going to add the extended swing arm and try that but, without over modding it you can get great E/T's out of it stock.

As fast as you can go,You will never be able to turn out numbers like Angelle Sampey,Antron Brown or even Andrew Hines. The NHRA rules the strip. AH but we can dream.

Street legals are in the high 7's....not very streetable, but street legal. I'd prefer to race a class u ride the bike to the event and run 8's best i think though. But that would only be if i were really any good at drag racing haha. I'd be Roger Lee Hayden and jaime hackings teammate on a road course bike a million times over though first.

I voted busa, only because of the tremendous support in the aftermarket, but maybe should of wrote in my bike,I fell in love with the gsxf1100 ever since i watched and met the vance and hines boys racing one at englishtown years ago,and with all the 1127cc stuff out there I could (well if i had deep pockets) build a 1400cc monster that would do damm good on the track!

zx 14 best in my experience, ran the 12 for 7 years and beat up many busa's sometimes the bike and sometimes the rider. but the 14 has the smoothest power delivery and acceleration.by far the most impressive bike i have ever raced.

Just going with what I know.:dthumb: "other" Aint nothing like an old KZ to put the fear of machine in ya. (or knocking out a 14 that had WAY too much cash spent on it ) Around here, its bracket 1/8th mile. I would even dare to say a Kawai triple two banger 750. It kinda comes down to how much you want to spend. It IS the rider that wins a race.
