WOW, YOUR SO KIND.................:pity: lowbudgetpimpin' 02-25-2007, 09:51 AM depends on what your looking for..........bracket racing/E.T. what? BIKEGOD 02-25-2007, 10:06 AM depends on what your looking for..........bracket racing/E.T. what?
Well for the sake of argument, lets say E/T. But of course the average bears E/T, Not some sponsored dude. with turbo and sh1t! Gas Man 02-25-2007, 03:52 PM WOW, YOUR SO KIND.................:pity:
Just trying to keep everything organized. byron12 02-25-2007, 04:58 PM I voted for the ducati because you spelled it wrong and nobody else will probably vote for it. As far as stock bikes are concerned I would go with the gsx-r 1000 the magazines get hte best quarter mile et's with it so....:idk: lowbudgetpimpin' 02-25-2007, 08:41 PM I voted Busa because the aftermarket is enormous for it.............But my honest/biased opinion is the R1 the mid range hit is like no other out there. Captain Morgan 02-25-2007, 09:25 PM Well for the sake of argument, lets say E/T. But of course the average bears E/T, Not some sponsored dude. with turbo and sh1t!
A guy doesn't have to be sponsored to have a turbo on his bike. I've seen a turbo busa on the 1/4mile, and all I can say is DAMN!!!!!!!!!!
Also, why no cruiser style bikes? I'm going to get slammed for this, but what's wrong with the V-rod on the 1/4? A bit of work and that's one quick bike. busafied 02-25-2007, 09:43 PM :iagree: a guy with one leg, on a newer harley w/some mods, sent me packing one time on a 1/4 mile run.
as far as crotchrockets, i'd go with a busa, and no i don't know why. OneSickPsycho 02-26-2007, 01:22 AM A guy doesn't have to be sponsored to have a turbo on his bike. I've seen a turbo busa on the 1/4mile, and all I can say is DAMN!!!!!!!!!!

They even make one from the factory... What makes this thread even more crazy is I actually like the V-rod....for a Harley. Although I'd never buy one. There are better bikes for less money. Carolina 03-03-2007, 10:10 AM undecided on the bike would have to go with the big kaw first then the busa but depends on the rider and just plain luck:cheers: Gas Man 03-03-2007, 12:05 PM They even make one from the factory... Yep that bike I'm sure would eat some busas...
http://www.dragracinghistory.de/03_Klassen/images/VRodDestroyerCup%20.JPG No Worries 03-04-2007, 10:46 AM To learn on? You can't beat an early 80's Suzuki GS 1100, or even better, a GS 1150. And they make kits to bore it out to 1300cc. kawi 636 03-04-2007, 10:48 AM To learn on? You can't beat an early 80's Suzuki GS 1100, or even better, a GS 1150. and stroker kits dnyce 03-29-2007, 10:02 PM for bracket racing, id say a busa or the 14. u can ride it to the track, it doesnt cost $30k like that over priced v-rod destroyer, and if u can ride, youll smoke that destroyer, becuz that v-rod isnt that fast, ESPECIALLY taking into account how much it costs. if u wana run a class, like super comp or super gas, id say a 80's kawi or suz, u can build one of those for really cheap ScottSellersUNR 04-11-2007, 01:08 PM that Vrod has a maintanance schedule that would keep 95% of riders from wanting to deal with the headache just to rip off some 9 second passes that most ppl could make it do...(pros are in the 8's on it right?) Its gotta have clutch adjustments like every two passes....and if its a wet clutch thats a oil change every two passes... I'm sure it also wont see 50,000 miles between rebuilds... more like 5K mi. Initial cost wouldnt be anything compared to keeping it running. jnn7404 04-11-2007, 07:27 PM I went with the zx10 because it is one sick bike if you can keep the front down! Jinx 04-12-2007, 03:54 AM I vote 14 because few mods and its great on the strip 1hottbikechic 04-12-2007, 06:58 AM Last season we raced the GSXR 1000 and I think with the numbers it puts down, you cant be wrong to say that is the answer for this one. The best quarter mile ET's were proven last season with the 1000, the only mod that was done was lowering it. This season we are going to add the extended swing arm and try that but, without over modding it you can get great E/T's out of it stock. R1HOOLIGAN 04-16-2007, 07:34 AM Everybody I know around here who drags uses the Hyabootie..Course, I don't know anything about drag racing bikes...:idk: dscort 04-16-2007, 08:44 PM i voted 929 and no wonder why. i drag only for the pure enjoyment on test and tune nites. havent got the 929 down the 1/4 yet but this summer ill have a few timeslips for sure. papapoi 05-03-2007, 01:01 PM My old 78 yamaha xs 1100 i use to have  man i miss that bike  GearGrabinGuy 05-07-2007, 05:01 PM The 14R hands down... Why cuz everything iv read, seen, and witnesed about this bike has shown me its nothing but a freaking missle on wheels. It has not been deamed the Busa Beater for no reason. mearnsy 05-12-2007, 02:21 AM gone for the ZX12R myself. It keeps the lads on their busas in my mirrors at least nitrofish 05-15-2007, 01:33 AM As fast as you can go,You will never be able to turn out numbers like Angelle Sampey,Antron Brown or even Andrew Hines.
The NHRA rules the strip.
AH but we can dream. dnyce 05-19-2007, 12:30 PM As fast as you can go,You will never be able to turn out numbers like Angelle Sampey,Antron Brown or even Andrew Hines.

sure you can, and i plan on doin so eventually :yikes: (seriously i do) i love nhra pro stock- but prostar has the numbers, top fuel bikes are in the 5 second range, even pro mod bikes run mid 6's :dthumb: ScottSellersUNR 05-19-2007, 04:28 PM Street legals are in the high 7's....not very streetable, but street legal. I'd prefer to race a class u ride the bike to the event and run 8's best i think though.
But that would only be if i were really any good at drag racing haha. I'd be Roger Lee Hayden and jaime hackings teammate on a road course bike a million times over though first. Back _Marker 05-19-2007, 05:02 PM http://www.750turbo.com/turbo.JPG
1984 gpz750 factory turbo.
i've seen kids do high 10's on a stock gpz750.
my old gpz900 wasn't as quick, but then again, it was also stock.

that's a wheelie bike... not good for dragging. i've seen a bunch of em flip backwards.
-a|ex ScottSellersUNR 05-20-2007, 10:20 PM i'd love to see a factory turbo bike come back out.
Would that be legal for Superbike since its production? nitrofish 05-21-2007, 11:45 AM sure you can, and i plan on doin so eventually :yikes: (seriously i do) i love nhra pro stock- but prostar has the numbers, top fuel bikes are in the 5 second range, even pro mod bikes run mid 6's :dthumb:
What is this prostar class you speak of and how can I take a look at there race results or even a few pics:readng:  Katana1100 02-23-2008, 09:20 PM I voted busa, only because of the tremendous support in the aftermarket, but maybe should of wrote in my bike,I fell in love with the gsxf1100 ever since i watched and met the vance and hines boys racing one at englishtown years ago,and with all the 1127cc stuff out there I could (well if i had deep pockets) build a 1400cc monster that would do damm good on the track! kilrgsxr750 02-23-2008, 09:48 PM http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh212/Kilr-R1/DaddyBike_0011.jpg
My bike is the best choice of course!!:iagree:
:withstupi UUUMM minus the blue jeans,I have bought alpinestars since then aparently the track will let you get one run just to make sure you can go faster then 120mph starchild 03-22-2008, 08:01 AM zx 14 best in my experience, ran the 12 for 7 years and beat up many busa's sometimes the bike and sometimes the rider. but the 14 has the smoothest power delivery and acceleration.by far the most impressive bike i have ever raced. raized1199 03-22-2008, 09:20 AM Just going with what I know.:dthumb:
"other"
Aint nothing like an old KZ to put the fear of machine in ya.
(or knocking out a 14 that had WAY too much cash spent on it )
Around here, its bracket 1/8th mile.
I would even dare to say a Kawai triple two banger 750.
It kinda comes down to how much you want to spend.
It IS the rider that wins a race. dnyce 03-26-2008, 01:55 PM Aint nothing like an old KZ to put the fear of machine in ya.

Aint no lie. Blight 11-15-2008, 09:11 PM Picked the 14. Its my next bike and I am biased towards it anyways.
