Now I want to state for the record, that I'm not some crazy Wings fan but I am from Michigan/Detroit...
And those are fightin words. People have been beatin and flagged for less in D-town!! :redevil: Douge 11-03-2004, 03:50 PM Alright, well at least they have pretty uniforms.  Need4Speed 11-03-2004, 03:53 PM Stop delaying the inevitable..I cant believe its going on this long and nobody has even the slightest urge to work it out...what a crock!! Gas Man 11-03-2004, 03:53 PM I'm just bustin ya ballz. It's no biggie to me...but I know that the Wings supports are pretty touchy... pickle.of.doom 11-03-2004, 03:56 PM I dunno man... I lasted through the shortened season a few years back... but I don;t think I have been into it as much as I was before then. BEfore, I would watch or listen to every single game. After not so much every one. IF and when it comes back, I don't know if I will jump right back into watchin all the time, watch more, or watch less. I think the longer it goes, the more I see there are other things to keep entertained by than hockey. I don't think i'm alone either. They are f-in up big time. Douge 11-03-2004, 03:57 PM Its a subtle homage to my SV riding friend from Bama. CharlieMavCBR 11-03-2004, 11:47 PM I just have 2 words... F--- Hockey!
This is total BS! :cursin:
I was actually looking forward to hocky...Buuuuuuuuut I guess THAT won't be happeneing for a while! bumblebee 11-04-2004, 06:44 AM The money has ruined the sport. Hockey is just the latest in a long line. I used to have season seats for the Blues at the Checkerdome in the 80's I even had season seats for the Sun Devils minor league team in Daytona Beach in the early 90's. After the short season, like with baseball, I dumped them. When millionaires are arguing with billionaires over money and a single game ticket costs 75 bucks with 5 dollar hot dogs and sodas, even parking runs 10 bucks now. This tells me money is all they care about. They don't care about the fans or the cities or pride in the team history, all they care about is money. So I will keep mine and use it to buy 10 dollar minor league or college game tickets. You, the fan, has the ability to dissolve the league. Take away their money. Boycott the TV advertisers, the root of the money problem, and they will stop advertising, and the whole house of cards will collapse. Wouldn't it be funny to hear them scream about prices, trying to raise their families on our salaries? CharlieMavCBR 11-04-2004, 07:56 AM The money has ruined the sport. OMG :iagree: !!!!! And the bad thing is, I LOVE sports! But it shouldn't BE about the money. It should be for the LOVE of the game. *Sighs* BAck in the day, that's ALL it was about. But now it's all about money, and salary caps and which team can accquire the "best" player for a 25 million dollar contract. It's a shame that most players' greed gets the best of them and clouds their true talent. WildMonkey 11-04-2004, 09:26 AM "Semi Pro Hockey." Can anybody say East Coast Hockey League ? Pensacola Ice Pilots, 5-0 :here:  Yeah Baby....

I haven't been to a professional game of any kind in 6 years (ignoring my anniversary gift trip to a Cubs NLCS game). Costs are out of control. Pigface1 11-04-2004, 11:35 AM What he said.
Hell, it's happening to college too. At the Sugar Bowl last year the bands couldn't even play during time outs b/c they had NOKIA commercials on the jumbotrons, etc. kanwisch 11-04-2004, 11:42 AM What he said.

 SHUT UP!!! Shiite, I was just there to watch Illinois a few years back and it wasn't like that. Thanks for the warning, I guess I won't be going to anymore Bowl Games. Pigface1 11-04-2004, 11:45 AM I hear ya, it was pathetic. It would have taken a week to count all the NOKIA ads.
I went to the Orange Bowl in 2000 and it wasn't like that. Every pro game I've been to in the past few years has been like that, though. Personally, I wish they'd keep the bowls in the same run down stadiums. :dthumb: Need4Speed 11-04-2004, 12:15 PM It's all about the cash..who's gonna give me more..I'll put up ur ads till everyone :puke: ..next thing u know their'll be a 30 minute infomercial from the main sponsor of the bowl as a halftime show.. :here: um wait on that :withstupi mumbo jumbo. I love sports, I just dont give a rats ass about the Hockey Lockout. It happened, not changing this year, so I will focus my attention on Extreme Dodgeball and Co-Ed underwater naked basketweaving instead. :dthumb: Gas Man 11-04-2004, 02:48 PM :here: um wait on that :withstupi mumbo jumbo. If you're too weak to watch a live football game outdoors, you're not just a puss, you don't deserve to be a football fan. Minneapolis in January isn't too damn cold for a game, so suck it up and screw these freakin' domed stadiums. It screws the game by removing the element of sun, wind, rain, etc. And I hate it (couldja tell?).
bring it out in the open..bring back the mud bowl, the fog bowl, the snow bowl..bring it back outdoors..thank goodness for places like Heinz Field, and all the other new stadiums that are open air !! It's a great experience to a fan at those games!! | |
