Biker Vs. Motorcyclist

To me the term biker has a sort of negative connotation to it... posers for example where as motorcyclists to me means more of a purest… someone who’s in it for the LOVE of motorcycles… weather it be anything two wheels or just a certain faction. Me… I’m a motorcyclist… I just love motorcycles… I love the camaraderie… the sense of family (especially apparent on the forum)… the freedom… and of course… the power and speed. :2cents:

I refer to myself as a rider or a motorcyclist. When others call me a biker, I wouldn't get my panties in a wad about it either.

As long as I can ride, I dont care what people call me. I do think biker has a more negative tone to it though. If I had to call myself something, it would be Sportbike Enthusiest.

aren't motorcycles called motorbikes in europe? "biker" for short. cyclist is more towards bicycles. what is the diff betw riding and driving? is it the way you perch on the seat? i guess different parts of the world have their own slangs... -a|ex

I do clarify that i ride an SB aka crotchrocket for those non bike ppl but I am an equal opportunity motorcyclist, if its got 2 wheels and runs, i'll ride it!! (Typically when ppl call me that tho the ppl they are speaking to automatically assume that I ride a cruiser and weigh 185 covered in tattoos, then they see me and dont even beleive I really ride, so whatever...)

Call me what you want. I just love to ride. I don't care what kind of bike it is either. I do think that the term Biker reflects more towards the bar hopping Cruiser riders tho.
