Good first bike or not? Hyosung GT250R

Alright what do you guys think about a Hyosung GT250R. its nice and dosent look like a pos like the katana and ninja and its not much more money. Here is the link to their site.http://www.hyosungmotorsusa.com

Me and Upshift were going to go to one of their dealerships today and look at them but before we went we were hoping to get some kind of anopinion from the community

Well, I really don't know much about them. I have seen one in person though and it is a pretty sexy bike! I throw my vote out and say it would make a fine first bike. looks light weight and it looks like it would handle pretty well without a scary amount of power. Others will chime in, I'm sure.

some kind of comment hey it's what you asked for! seriously though I don't know much about them. and honestly... in my opinion you'd be better off with a used bike... something that's been proven... and has a dealer network where you can get spare parts with no trouble if the need arises. :2cents:

I have heard good things from the guys on the west coast...they look pretty nice but I have no personal experience.

check how easy it would be to get parts/service. You may love the ride of the bike but just be careful about $300 brake pads overnight from china. :readng: I had a Fiat once and it would of been a great car to keep if it would not of been so hard to get parts for it!!

the Hyosung 250 seems pretty good in design, but I want the CBR250RR. IMO, its cheaper to buy a used EX250 and play with that for awhile than it is to buy a new Hyosung that costs more than a ninja. remember, if you dont like how it looks, you can always do a streetfighter design of your own.

saw some hyosung's at the bike show a few weeks back, thought they offered a pretty good package. what you need is something to learn on though, and my friend as far as the 250's go nothing has been as tried and true as the ninja. whatever you do go used, you're gonna be sol when you get bored w/ the 250 engine in a year or so and want to step up, only to realize the resale on your bike is squat.

The Hyosung looks a hell of a lot better than the Ninja thats for sure. Haven't heard anything bad about them. They've got a SV650 engine so they can't be that bad. Go check them out.

thanks ive been looking for some ninjas and ive found quite a few so i guess ill do that just nee a bit more cash. :thx1: HYOSUNG(yo-sung) built motors for suzuki and had a contract saying they wouldn't compete, now that contract is expired and they're making their own moto's, if i'm not mistaking, they have a v-twin 650r. a guy at the dealership i got my busa from said he loved his new hyosung and over here the brandnew 2006's are less than 5k and the new 07's with all options are less then 6k, they have a repo w/300miles for 4k.

The GT250 is a great bike. Also, they're from Korea, not China. You can get brake pads from Hyosung, EBC, Vesrah, and Tuff Stop for about $25 per side. I've got them on my website. If you want more first hand reports, check out http://www.korider.com

It's a beautiful bike, but, following a get off, it took 5 months for him to get new plastics from Italy. :cursin: I no longer want one.
