GSXR1000DJ 12-18-2004, 12:23 AM Just incase you were talking about his son, Johann Christian Bach, he went on to be a composer as well. However, he composed what his father never did. Opera. And he was know as "the London Bach", for his Italian opera.
Gas Man 12-18-2004, 09:20 AM But you weren't suppose to answer to doof!!! Remember the 24 hr rule!! DUH!!
I'll get you another question...
GSXR1000DJ 12-18-2004, 10:59 AM I had to answer that one. that was way to easy. We need something that I can't think of any kind of answer to it off the top of my head. Make me have to think for a while on it. :D
Gas Man 12-19-2004, 11:37 PM Ok... do you guys ever wonder how the repair cost to a bike can be so high!?!? :skep: I mean, come on, you low side your bike at the GAP and take it in for a estimate. You rode it in and all it needed was some minor repairs! :dupe:
The estimate comes back from the dealer and it is $4,000. :wtf: FOR SOME FAIRINGS AND A FEW PARTS!!! :cursin: :bonk:
Gas Man wants to know...
How much would it cost to BUILD his ENTIRE 2002 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-9R piece by piece???!!! AT DEALER RETAIL COST!!! This is as if you were making your own bike, purchasing the parts and assembling it piece by piece.
Now take note that it retailed for $9499 in 2002...
:luck:
GSXR1000DJ 12-19-2004, 11:47 PM I will wait my 24hr period and then give my answer. :dthumb:
Gas Man 12-19-2004, 11:49 PM I can't wait to see this one!!! SERIOUSLY!!! It is going to be a stupid amount!!!
GSXR1000DJ 12-19-2004, 11:50 PM I can't wait to see this one!!! SERIOUSLY!!! It is going to be a stupid amount!!!
I know. :bonk:
Gas Man 12-19-2004, 11:51 PM PM me the answer to see if your close!!
Gas Man 12-20-2004, 12:01 AM This is for Dealer Retail cost of every single part of the bike...
As if you walked up to the parts counter and order every single piece of the bike!!
Rodogg04 12-20-2004, 02:33 AM i say 4x's the retail of the bike which would be $37,996???
Need4Speed 12-21-2004, 06:58 PM Hey Look !!! :here:
Gas Man is the first official TWF Champion with his post count. Me, DJ don't count since our tag lines are set differently. So YOU DA MAN CHRIS !!! :dthumb:
Gas Man 12-21-2004, 10:34 PM WOW, you're laggin behind...I patted myself on the back like days ago in the Real Postwhore thread...man you slippin!! :D
Gas Man 12-21-2004, 10:35 PM I will wait my 24hr period and then give my answer. :dthumb:
So it's way over 24hrs....what's the answer DJ???
Need4Speed 12-21-2004, 10:50 PM I'd say maybe atleast double the amount..minimum..but i am way too lazy to google it like DJ will..so i'll just wait for him to give the answer and then tell us he knew it all by himself.
and yeah i know gas man..but the forum was runinng alittle slow at the time so I thought I'd just say something..and that's what popped out.
3BoyzNaBike 12-22-2004, 01:10 PM Ok because I am totally bored and DJ hasn't answered yet, I am gonna take a big GUESS...... I am thinking about 47g's.... That is probably way off but hey I tried!
Rodogg04 12-25-2004, 01:21 AM What's the answer???
Need4Speed 12-25-2004, 01:23 AM I think gas man forgot about his own damn question!
Gas Man 12-25-2004, 12:26 PM I didn't forget just waiting for DJ to sport his answer!!
GSXR1000DJ 12-25-2004, 04:00 PM Sorry for not being on the last few days. And N4S....I was talking to Gas Man the night he posted it and didn't need to googlr this. But I think I am a bit off on this.
Depending on if you get all the parts from one shop or a few shops to try to save a bit...its going to cost on the low end of $21,000 up to $28,000.
Need4Speed 12-25-2004, 04:03 PM It's about damn time!! I was losing sleep over this every nite just waiting for you to answer!! :yaewn:
Gas Man 12-26-2004, 01:39 PM Ya, that sounds like a good answer...I really didn't have the answer and just was hoping for a good concrete answer!
GSXR1000DJ 12-26-2004, 01:47 PM Ya, that sounds like a good answer...I really didn't have the answer and just was hoping for a good concrete answer!
And I didn't need to google it either. Damn I'm good.
hondaguy 12-26-2004, 05:37 PM The markup is just outrageous !! Really makes you realize how wealthy these companies really are.
GSXR1000DJ 12-26-2004, 06:05 PM They have to try to make more money after they sell the bikes. They know there are plenty of squids out there and they will need new parts after crashing in the first year. :bash:
Need4Speed 12-26-2004, 06:08 PM And I didn't need to google it either. Damn I'm good.
You're a legend in your own mind. :smash:
GSXR1000DJ 12-26-2004, 06:14 PM You're a legend in your own mind. :smash:
Your just jealous. :yesnod:
CharlieMavCBR 12-26-2004, 06:14 PM You're a legend in your own mind. :smash:
:yesnod: Yeah what Matt said!!!!!
Gas Man 12-26-2004, 11:56 PM Yeah MP could tell you all about the mark up on the retail sales of parts...he does it all the time in his industry... but stay tuned for the next question... got to think up a good one...
GSXR1000DJ 12-27-2004, 11:46 AM It better be a really good one. And I won't use google to help me. :bonk:
Mudpuppy 12-27-2004, 12:35 PM Yeah MP could tell you all about the mark up on the retail sales of parts...he does it all the time in his industry... but stay tuned for the next question... got to think up a good one...
There is no "markup" persay we just have to cover um er "expenses" or something like that.. Not my fault that expenses include such things as prime rib lunch and a trip to the local "adult entertainment" bar.. lol...
We cleared about 41% overall this year. Not too bad.
Rodogg04 12-28-2004, 04:38 AM im in the wrong business!! i dont get to see the "adult entertainment bar" as often as i should LOL!
GSXR1000DJ 12-28-2004, 11:15 PM So where is the new question at????
Mudpuppy 12-29-2004, 12:37 PM The new question is:
What will the total sales for my department be from 10/25/04 to 12/31/04 booked, shipped and invoiced.. Yesterday they said $500,000 and today it was going to be closer to $1,000,000.. So what is your guess?
I have to look into hacking into the system and changing it to like $2m to increase my damn bonus.. lol..
Gasman wants to know!
Gas Man 12-29-2004, 10:36 PM Yeah Yeah Yeah sure go for it...then I have the next one...
GSXR1000DJ 12-30-2004, 01:10 AM $1,089,523.00
Rodogg04 12-31-2004, 02:15 AM probably over a million but they'll tell you under 500,000!!! "sorry no bonus this year sales are down!!"
Gas Man 01-01-2005, 04:16 PM MP, what's the scoop???
I have a new year question I want to bust out while waiting for MP's response...
Gas Man wants to know...
Approx. when is it that society as a whole started to really party down for New Years? Was it when Dick Clark was born or what??? :willy: :pat:
GSXR1000DJ 01-01-2005, 04:31 PM Good question Gas Man. About time you gave us one. :dthumb:
Rodogg04 01-01-2005, 09:36 PM id say back in the days of the aztecs!! They were one of the people to develop todays 365 day calendar. My people are always looking for a reason to party!!
GSXR1000DJ 01-01-2005, 10:32 PM Thats about around the same time that Dick Clark was born.
Gas Man 01-01-2005, 11:25 PM Thats about around the same time that Dick Clark was born.
:withstupi  Good joke!!
Glad you like the joke....
:sorry: I haven't been maintaining my thread... but with my schedule for work and non-work, I just haven't had the time to use my creative thinking... :dupe:
GSXR1000DJ 01-02-2005, 03:10 PM So does that mean that your brain cells are growing back or no?? LOL
CharlieMavCBR 01-02-2005, 04:32 PM That just means that he is giving his brain cells a break. Don't want to burn out greatness.
Gas Man 01-02-2005, 06:10 PM That just means that he is giving his brain cells a break. Don't want to burn out greatness.
:iagree: :withstupi :dupe:
Mudpuppy 01-03-2005, 12:56 PM MP, what's the scoop???
I have a new year question I want to bust out while waiting for MP's response...
Gas Man wants to know...
Approx. when is it that society as a whole started to really party down for New Years? Was it when Dick Clark was born or what??? :willy: :pat:
Too early to tell - January 5 we will know the total total.. But our sister company screwed us on $200k so it may be a little lower than it should be.. DOH!
Gas Man 01-03-2005, 08:51 PM So what's the answer DJ???? :pat:
GSXR1000DJ 01-03-2005, 08:55 PM So what's the answer DJ???? :pat:
Are we talking about the Dick Clark one or MP's question that he will give sometime this week??
Gas Man 01-03-2005, 09:00 PM The new years party question!!
GSXR1000DJ 01-03-2005, 09:02 PM 2004 was the 100th party in New York. 1904 was the opening of the city's first New Year's Eve in Times Square. :dthumb: And subway line.
GSXR1000DJ 01-03-2005, 09:12 PM Just incase you want to know this as well...Dick Clark has been hosting it for the last 32yrs. :dthumb:
Gas Man 01-05-2005, 05:29 PM Many have heard this before and it maybe a old wives tail or myth.
Do heating blankets really cause cancer? If so, please try to provide evidence to back up your response...
:pat:
CharlieMavCBR 01-05-2005, 06:13 PM There is little evidence stating that heating pads cause cancer. I mean, there are studies and experiements that are being performed, but none of which have come back with a justifed or conclusive analysis.
Most household appliances emitt an EMF...OR an Electro-Magnetic Field. And most appliances aren't used for a long period of time.
I don't think anyone is in danger until there is substantial evidence. Just my :2cents:
(Being a ghosthunter you have to know about EMFs and all that stuff...LOL)
2Fast4U 01-05-2005, 06:18 PM My grandmother used heating blankets all her life, and she died of old age, not cancer...My God..now I've even heard that drinking too much milk is bad for you. Anything and everything will kill you these depending on who you talk to. :bonk:

Whatever scarcities we may have in this world, a shortage of street-name suffixes isn't one of them. The possibilities include but are not limited to alley, avenue, boulevard, circle, court, cove, crescent, crossing, dale, drive, estate, extension, gardens, gate, heights, highway, lake, landing, lane, loop, park, parkway, path, place, plaza, point, promenade, ridge, road, roadway, square, street, terrace, trace, trail, village, or way, to say nothing of commonly used foreign words such as camino, calle, etc.
The most famous sorta-system is Manhattan's grid of north-south avenues and east-west streets.
Michigan:
Cul-de-sacs should be named circle, court, way, or place
Meandering streets--drive, lane, path, trail
North-south streets--avenue, highway
Streets with planted medians--boulevard, parkway.
Guilford County, North Carolina, prefers:
North-south streets--street; east-west--avenue (take that, Manhattan)
Diagonal--road
Dead-end streets--terrace, point, cove, dale, way
Cul-de-sacs--court
Short curved roads with ingress and egress from the same thoroughfare--circle.
Kenai Peninsula Borough, Alaska, is even more precise:
North-south cul-de-sac--circle.
East-west cul-de-sac--court.
Northwest-southeast street--drive
Northeast-southwest street--lane (doesn't the Kenai planning department have anything better to do?)
Begins and ends at same thoroughfare--loop
Meandering--road.

Next question...cause I got a list of em...
Gas Man wants to know...
What keeps the human body/blood warm?
And don't say because we're warm blooded mammals. What makes the blood warm? What makes that different then the cold blooded freaky animals???
ShanMan14 01-20-2005, 10:06 AM Lithium batteries, everyone knows that! :tt:
Tifosi 01-20-2005, 10:22 AM It's the friction from sex...
... my body temp is goin' down. I wish I was.
CharlieMavCBR 01-20-2005, 10:58 AM My turn to answer.. and MATT you should know this....
The human body/blood is kept warm by radiation from far infrared rays.
The far infrared rays expand the arteries and small capilaries. And when that happens the circulation of blood increases, giving the body a warming sensation.
BOOOOOO-YAAAAAAAAAAAH!
I didn't even have to google. *AHEM*
GSXR1000DJ 01-20-2005, 02:20 PM Yeah for you Charlie. :dthumb: :dthumb:
CharlieMavCBR 01-21-2005, 11:23 AM Well I saw that you post whores didn't post to it yet, so I had to try and jump in before you guys posted the answer.

GSXR1000DJ 01-26-2005, 12:21 PM Sorry for the delay on this. And I did not google or anything on this one.
There is a ingredents that makes the blood vessels constrict and the eyes look whiter. :dthumb: If you want to know what it is that does this, I will get a bottle and look to see what it is.
Gas Man 01-26-2005, 04:52 PM SURE!!! You get another lust filled night with N4S!!
Gas Man 01-30-2005, 11:43 AM What makes a teapot whistle?

:jacked: heres one why can a football fly so far and it is so light and it can still go farthur then a baseball ???
kinda off topic but hey im curious :dthumb:
Gas Man 01-31-2005, 05:57 AM air itself isn't the only thing that causes a whistle... for example when you breath out you don't whistle...you have more to do then that....
twisty 01-31-2005, 08:42 AM THe little cap makes it whistle. It has a reed like slit in the cap.
bumblebee 01-31-2005, 10:49 AM Sorry for the delay on this. And I did not google or anything on this one.
There is a ingredents that makes the blood vessels constrict and the eyes look whiter. :dthumb: If you want to know what it is that does this, I will get a bottle and look to see what it is.
Visine contains an astringent, yes it constricts the blood vessels so the whites show brighter. It is the same type of chemical in styptic pencils and the "old time" remedy witch hazel
bumblebee 01-31-2005, 10:52 AM THe little cap makes it whistle. It has a reed like slit in the cap.
Boyle's Law. It is the volume of vapor, under pressure, pushing through the small opening at high speed
GSXR1000DJ 01-31-2005, 02:21 PM :iagree: :withstupi
Gas Man 01-31-2005, 03:02 PM I don't know Twisty....Bee's sounds pretty right!
GSXR1000DJ 01-31-2005, 03:28 PM I don't know Twisty....Bee's sounds pretty right!
I think they are both correct. Some older types of teapots were made like that so the women would hear it when the water got all steamed up and all.

:puke: :flush:
your inner ear, the Eustachian tubes
Hum...me, me, me.... :here:
Motion sickness is a normal response to real, perceived, or anticipated movement
There are two main things that your brain uses to tell where you are.
One is the semicircular canal. The cochlea is
involved only in hearing. The semicircular canals are able to tell your
brain when your head is moving, and often your body (because, they are
attached to one another).
The other is your eyes. Your eyes are also really important for giving you
brain information about where you are. This is because vision is a really
important sense for us and we get a lot of information from what we see.
If any of the four sensory systems (The Eyes, The Ears, The Skin Pressure receptors or The central nervous system) are not in accordance with the rest of the systems, this resulting conflict thus leads to symptoms of nausea, dizziness, and sometimes vomiting. These symptoms are all pertinent to motion sickness.

3BoyzNaBike 02-21-2005, 01:22 PM 1971
Gas Man 02-21-2005, 04:25 PM Nope...
GsxrJack 02-21-2005, 04:32 PM Nope...
hmmm, found this...
"Until 1971, both February 12 and February 22 were observed as federal public holidays to honor the birthdays of Abraham Lincoln (February 12) and George Washington (February 22). In 1971 President Richard Nixon proclaimed one single federal public holiday, the Presidents' Day, to be observed on the 3rd Monday of February, honoring all past presidents of the United States of America."
so the first year we celebrated it was either 71 or 72...since you say 71 is wrong, ill say 1972
Gas Man 02-21-2005, 04:38 PM WOW, I thought it was 1956 then 1971 like you 2 said.... can't remember or go back to the info, cause it was on the news.... oh well...
