:thx1: The new swing arm. Not the extenstions, I think they look hidieous! So basically just an entire bolt in swing arm, nothing chrome, just stock color.

All the ones I'm finding are polished or cromed... none say 07... the first one didn't say a year... and this one (http://www.spyderracing.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=1301%2D0028) is the first I've seen that says 06.

Why would you want to extend an 07 GSXR 1000?

why wouldnt you?

i dont know where you are located, but i would think you can just take your bike and have one made at a reputable shop. if you not near one, im sure if you called a more dragbike specific shop like trac dynamics, or d&g chassis, they'd make one up for ya just how u like it, polished, raw, boxed steel, aluminum, 6-8"" over, 8"" fixed, all that. probably lookin at 500 to 1700 i would think. my :2cents:

Hey guys whats up? Its been awhile since I have been on here, Jenna was just finding out some info for me about the swing arm and some other mods I am trying to do to the bike. I have been bed riden for a few days because of surgury and shes helping me find some info on this swing arm which is becoming damn near impossible to find anything on.....I am thinking that I am just going to have to take my stock swing arm off and send it out to get extended. But thanks again for your help.

:thx1:

Yea I love trac's work, a little expensive but you do get what you pay for! I am still waiting to hear back from them so we shall see and once they give me a quote I'll let you guys know what they said.

I prefer the extended swing arm because it lowers the center of the bike and keeps it from coming up off the ground during launching.....so does the wheelie bars but I would rather have the extended swing arm. It's the drivers preference and they both have their pros and cons..

Wheelie bars can be taken off easily and put back on.

Extended swing arm, is for looks, can't be removed easily, and still provides low gravity to keep the bike from coming up. I mean I have seen plenty of bikes at the track that have both. I just prefer to have the extended swing arm.

Hope that helps you out a little bit.

Hey guys I did some research and found exactly what I was looking for. Seems if I send them my swingarm its only 325.00 to extend it 10 inches, and with the extras im only looking at around 500.00. Here is the site.

I don't consider me ruining a good bike, I am going to drag race my GSXR1000 in the 1/4 mile. And I want to extend the swingarm there is nothing wrong with that. You obviously have your own opinion about extended swing arms. I asked Jenna to simply put this thread up until I was able to get to a computer. For those of you who helped her and I find the answer thank you very much.

And to add on to the link that I found. I called them this morning and their prices are excellent but they are on a 10-14 week backup. Kinda sucks but they do great work and they will stand by their work with a lifetime warranty!

my :2cents: a longer swingarm doesnt really lower the center of gravity (unless you lower the bike as well) but it does put more weight on the front wheel (easiest way to say it) and thats what makes it easier to keep the front end down. it can still come up. with a wheelie bar, the front end will not come up more than a few inches. biggest difference, other than visisble, is wheelie bar bikes have no rear suspension, and u dont have to slide the clutch out when you take off, just hold it wide open (assuming u have a limiter) and pop the clutch. u can keep your susp. with a extended arm (dont have to) but you have to slide the clutch out. a no bar bike will never ever 60ft like a wheelie bar bike. have fun!

I have drag raced for 3 years and never used an extended swingarm or wheelie bars. Just raced with the bike lowered. I am trying something different this year with the extended swingarm. The bike will always be lowered when I drag race, and the only way I plan on putting wheelie bars on it is if im running low 8's and the bike still wants to come up at the 60'

i wasnt directing that info at you, i assumed you knew what you were doing already, i was just answering the guys question with a different opinion (mine) Im pretty sure you can adjust the suspension and clutch to run that fast with no bar, the prostar guys have been doin it for years. im guessin that 8inch extension would put u at about a 60inch wheelbase on your gixxer? with enough motor, you should hit low 8's, hi 7's easy, and with the rite setup (and a smooth left hand lol) that wheel shouldnt come up more than 4-5 inches. again, jus my :2cents: , but i figure its easier to adjust alil bit, than to throw the bars on there and go with a whole new clutch setup and adjusting the bars, etc, cuz thats like startin all over, know what i mean?

nice to see another drag racer too  we seem to be an endangered species here lol
