When, where (and I am not even going to ask why). I might be willing to make a run to TN to see this! But 35? I think I might have to throw up the bs flag as well.:wbs: Unless there has been some serious modifications made, it would come apart.

When is kept secret, where is the dragon. It's a state highway, so they don't annouce it. Find a really big downhill and go down it, you aren't powering it yourself, gravity does all the work. They will get up there in speed. I have seen some serious modified ones hit 40 on the internet with a chase car, had a rubber front wheel and bicycle forks. This will be my first year participating As far as coming apart, that's the fun part. It does happen often. They melt the plastic wheels. I have modified mine a lot, got a stronger axle and supports for my weight. Got some bearings and cut off the pedals. Rules are you have to keep the plastic body/forks/wheels. Other than that you can make some mods. Full motorcycle riding gear is required as well, pants included, no jeans.

Just got back, video is already on the computer and about to start uploading to youtube, was running 2nd with 30 yards to go to the finish and my wheel burnt off the axle. The holding nut was still on the axle, the wheel actually melted off the axle and ripped off. This wouldn't of been so bad if it hadn't of taken me directly left and down a 5-7 foot drop off right into the little creek by the store. I ran in semi final heat #2, didn't get to compete in the finals because it was unfixable in the time we had to do it, because it was all done in minutes. Two people started out ahead of me, they both wrecked, which you can't see in the video. It was extremely dark and wicked scary. You can see my head turn when I pass em and then someone passed me while I was in the lead which you can see him ahead of me for a little bit and actually hear him go by. During my wreck the axle stabbed me in the leg and cut through a seam in my leathers. Totally fixable though, just a seam tear. My leg has a nasty bruise. A lot of pics should come later, most people stayed at the store, so they have the pics and won't upload em for a couple days.

Yeah that vid is crappy Trip.. :sorry: The sound was cool though... and funny! You need to install some wheel bearings in those wheels I think! I love the whole idea and everything! Get a couple of those high intensity LED flash lights the cops use! As long as your axles can take the weight... you could carry some batteries with you to power everything that you said you wanted...

As long as your axles can take the weight... you could carry some batteries with you to power everything that you said you wanted... It's not the video's fault, it's the light that was available, it was just dark. It didn't look any better in person, all I could see was the painted lines right under me and headlights on the side of the road to figure out where the turns were. Bearings would be nice, but I don't know if they are allowed. The reason mine melted was because I didn't use axle extensions like some people did. The plastic wheel rubbing against the plastic body wore the hole in the inside of the wheel and ripped it off. I will go the extension route and use something other than plastic to keep the wheel away from plastic. Probably a metal washer will do it.

Yeah I know why the vid sucks... hopefully a better headlight setup would help out... Do they have a website or print off of the modrules? No, it's a local party for the beginning and end of season. I may have the rules somewhere. Let me check. Wow, looks like you can use bearings. Now I know what I am going to do next. 1) The wheels in contact with the ground must remain original plastic wheels. Only modifications to wheels may be bushings or bearings. 2) Your Big Wheel must have started out ilfe as a Big Wheel. 3) Must utilize the original wheels, body, handle bars and forks. Racers 1) Full gear will be required. Helmets, gloves, leather or textile (pants and jacket) Boots with proper ankle protection (this will be enforced) Conduct 1) No profane language or gestures (remember their will be kids present) 2) Rubbing is racing, along with bump drafting, as long as it is done in a sportsman like mannor, (yeah right)

I guess the honor rule keeps the cops away... Is this done often or just once a year? The crowd was the same in my video, you just couldnt see them because it was so dark. They divided up the racers this year into two semi final races so the field was smaller in my race, I didn't make it to the finals thanks to my rear wheel coming off. It's twice a year right now. End of season and beginning of season. Cops usually don't bother us because this is a local party that takes care of the dragon as far as trash cleanups and dealing with idiots and we do it in the dead of night and block off the road. We are all pretty friendly with the regular patrol officers up there. THP is about the only ones that are kinda d**ks, but since this is all on NC side, they can't do squat. Yellow Wolf was back for this years, but he sold the goldwing so no videos from him.

They had someone looking at my leg when they were taking pics after the final race. I got stabbed by the axle and it went through a seam in the elastic of my leathers and cut/bruised me pretty bad underneath the leg. http://www.photoreflect.com/pr3/ThumbPage.aspx?e=2843719&g=04RK009007 It's me! http://www.photoreflect.com/pr3/OrderPage.aspx?pi=04RK0090070034&po=34&c= After the crash walking to the finish line. http://www.photoreflect.com/pr3/OrderPage.aspx?pi=04RK0090070005&po=5&c= That thing hanging off my back is a backpack that had my camera in it. I didn't come up with a good mounting system for my helmet cam, so I just threw everything in a backpack. Good thing too because of the Le Mans type start of running to your bikes.
