Left home today with the old bike and came home with a new one:dthumb: as you can see my wife was not to happy about it. I thought she would not notice since it was the same color:bash: , (kinda) but my plan failed. through in a carbon fiber Yosh TRS slipon and a powercomander on to the loan and I am all set to install after brake in. http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i118/destined4light/gixxer1000005.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i118/destined4light/gixxer1000006.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i118/destined4light/gixxer1000008.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i118/destined4light/gixxer1000004.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i118/destined4light/gixxer1000007.jpg

is it normal for the engine to sound a little ruff, till it is broke in? it sounds ruff and then smooths out when I get the rpms up a little. I never had a real new bike.

Not really rought but very tight feeling is very normal. Ride it hard after you warm it up, run through the gears all the way. Congerats on bike. Feel likes almost double the power

I wonder :wtf: is up... gonna PM him He's around... I've talked with him. The cliff notes... he's got a new perma g/f that he's spending time with... that's the way it is I guess. First off :dthumb: on the trade. That's howt! Now dumb the reflectors, dumb OE stickers, and that shovel off the back. Running ruff? What do you mean? Are you sure its just not cammin? Could it be something to do with the exhaust valve on these newer bikes.. giving you a different idea? I know alot of these newer bikes run pretty clanky sounding. It has to do with leaning them out so much and squeeze out every available hp they can. Obviously the sound is going to change... hence one of the reasons Harley doesn't change their motors.

Nice bike, and I like how it comes with a gear indicator.... something I need on my R1! Geeze you guys get raped in the ass with insurance rates! :yikes: When I had full coverage on the R1 I paid $572 a year! Now with liability I pay about $100 a year.

I too have an 06 Gixxer 1000 and yes, the engine will be a little rough for a couple hundred miles. Also, expect the valves to make noise when the engine is cold after it is broken in. Mine has almost 9000 on the clock and the valves make a lot of noise while it's cold. Once it gets to about 120 or so, they quiet down. Other than that, you'll love her!

I would recomend you put the stock pipe back on til you reach bout 600 miles. I know you're excitement, bro.....believe me :D Just a TWFFR (TWF friendly reminder), the break in period is the most important for the life of your bike. :dthumb: As far as the noise.......(if it's not the pipe) when the K5 or K6 are at idle, the valves sound like they're clicking louder than normal. No worries, it is normal. & most of all............. CONGRATS !!!! :dthumb: :dthumb: :dthumb:
