My Dilema.

last night while being out with the girlfriend and some friends i spotted a wallet from a block away, don't ask how i just have a sixth sense for knowing where the money is :lol: so there's 160 bucks in it, 2 credit cards, what may be the pin # written on a piece of paper and the dude's state ID. Im trying to contact this guy so i can return his belongings cause i just don't wanna mail it to some address not knowing if he lives there still or not. Anyone here know how i could get a hold of him with his state ID and credit cards?

Contact the PD in that area... From what I have heard if nobody claims it within 60 days, it's yours. Or you could just sell the credit cards to some crackheads for $20 each and make $200 the easy way.:whistle:

Maybe send the guy a letter to his address. Address it to his name, but don't put any other information in it. If he can respond correctly with the following answers, give it to him: What are the credit card numbers? Stats from his ID. How much money was in the wallet? What else was in it?

your best bet would probably be to send the guy a letter. Or you can just go to the address and give it back (his state ID has a picture on it so you can tell if it's the guy or not)

I even dropped it off at his house!

I tell you the internet can be a very powerful tool if you use it right. I did some searching and tracked down the dude's adress [or atleast what i thought was his adress] and spoke to some lady who told me he had moved and he doesnt live there anymore but he still receives his mail there. So i left my number with her and told her as soon as she speaks to the man to give him my number and have him call me. She's calling her husband now to get this gentleman's number so she can tell him to call me. Turns out the man lives here in queens no not in L.I there for who knows what would've happen if i had mailed it to the adress on the ID! I tell you if this doesnt earn me some MAJOR brownie points with someone up in heaven so i can get my bike and my stuff i dont know what would! :lol:

you deserve something for being an honest person and not just keeping the wallet and money for yourself. there are few of us anymore who would find the owner of a wallet and return it to them with everything in it anymore.

If i was in your shoes i would have taken out 20 bucks and gave him backeverything else and told him im sure you didnt mind i took 20 out to pay for gas and etc... It would be a different story if i found a brown lunch bag filled with cash tho.

so i just got off the phone with the owner and he's swinging by my job tomorrow around 4 to pick it up. I've gotta tell you it sure felt good to hear how happy he was when i told him i have his wallet and that the money is still in it as well as everything else. :angelhap:

something good shall come forth to you in time for your good deed. glad to hear the wallet's owner contacted you and is getting his hard earned money back. its all too easy to put myself in that person's place, it gets easy to be bent out of shape about losing something like your wallet.

I was cleaning out the dressing room when I found a wallet litteraly with money falling out of it... I picked up and counted it... $5600 CASH! I took the wallet... and put it in a drawer in the front office... told my manager about it... she looked at me like I was insane... probably cause I didn't take any cash... the dude came in about 5mins before we closed white faced... asked if I found a wallet... I had him discribe it... he did so... I handed the wallet to him he counted it in front of me and turned and left... with out saying THANKS!... I was like **** YOU! I could have VERY easily said nope and been $5600 richer... but I believe in Karma... still waiting for the pay off on that one though:tt:
