I am thinking aobut joining Marine reserves, to make it real easy to get a police job here locally. If i go, am i likely to see iraq with the marine reserves?
A Q for our enlisted guys....ScottSellersUNR 05-22-2007, 12:54 AM I am thinking aobut joining Marine reserves, to make it real easy to get a police job here locally. If i go, am i likely to see iraq with the marine reserves? SVRider 05-22-2007, 01:01 AM Sorry, no experience with the marine reserve.
In the Army Nat'l Guard (you can)... sorry, had to.
But really, they figure every deployable unit will probably go overseas once every 5 years.
I believe the Army reserve is more often, as they are a federal level defense, rather than a state level.
So I would be willing to bet that if you got into the marine reserve, in the next 5 years, you would see the sandbox.
Granted, also depends on what our next Commander In Chief has in store for us as well.
Good luck with whatever choice you make! :dthumb:
I've never regretted joining, and I'm proud to be an American, and that I'm allowed the opportunity to serve and protect this great country. :pat: Captain Morgan 05-22-2007, 01:19 AM If you're JUST joining to have a better chance of getting into the police force, then join the Air National Guard or Air Force Reserves. If you join the Marines, you have a much higher chance of getting called up to the sandbox (or other supporting locale) than with any other branch. Remember, the Marines are the first in and the last out.
If you want experience as a cop, again, Air Force as an SP.
If you're just looking to get broken down and built back up, then join the Marines.
Hardest to Easiest:
Marines
Army
Navy
Air Force marko138 05-22-2007, 01:20 AM I guess they dont call it the 'chair force' for no reason, eh? SVRider 05-22-2007, 01:22 AM I guess they dont call it the 'chair force' for no reason, eh?
nope, just ask ebbs! Captain Morgan 05-22-2007, 01:43 AM I guess they dont call it the 'chair force' for no reason, eh?
Exactly. I was in for two terms, so I know all about it. However, my last 3 years were spent in a mobile unit, so we did play Army on a regular basis. | |
