You know what is scary about this, that the gap had a grand total of 2 deaths on the 11.1 miles know as the dragon last year. They had more on other roads, but only 2 biker deaths on one of the most technically difficult public roads in the country. 2!!!!! That's multiple rallies every weekend for an entire season..... 6 deaths is way too many for a cruising rally.... Makes you wonder what the total would be with helmet laws... 1BadCBR 05-30-2007, 10:03 PM The majority of the deaths and accidents come from cars, trucks, suv's, etc pulling out in front of bikes. These deaths and accidents didn't just occur during bike week last week, they also occured durning harley rally the week before. Either way you look at it, it's not good! Well you have the same dangers at the gap, bad passes and cars/bikes crossing the lane, bikes going off mountains, yet only 2 deaths in several months. That whole thing at myrtle beach lasted a month. Helmets can make a difference in accidents not of the bikers doing as well. 1BadCBR 05-30-2007, 10:32 PM Well you have the same dangers at the gap, bad passes and cars/bikes crossing the lane, bikes going off mountains, yet only 2 deaths in several months. They are fighting in TN to get the helmet law removed. Who cares who caused the accidents, I am not blaming the bikers for any of the accidents, I am wondering if the bikers were wearing helmets if it would of made a difference in them being alive or dead. That is a perfectly valid to question that. 4 deaths excuse us, that is still double the amount of deaths over an entire year of rallys that bring a lot more tourists riding a very dangerous road that has a lot more accidents than that one month of rallies in that area.
As for the stretched/chromed/show bike flaming. I don't really care what you think of me flaming those bikes. I can afford to do that, but choose not to because they are hideous. Actually I don't believe I am Rossi and I don't think it takes any balls to ride any bike. You can put any halfwit on one of those and they will ride it, given they might wreck it. We are allowed to attack ideas on this forum. What we aren't allowed to do is personal attacks such as your "dumba**" comment. Your post is now reported. The rules are stated clearly for this forum. If you can't abide by them, maybe you should find something else to do with your time.
As for helmets, if it only saves 1 out of 75 involved in a fatal wreck, they are worth it. They are worth it, if it saves 1 out of 10000000000000000000. marko138 05-31-2007, 11:30 PM Nice work again, ladies. :lock:
