Today was a Buelltiful day!

Fluck you all, I bought a Buell! My day started out going to the bank to get the title officially transfered to the guy who bought my 500 Ninj... After that I happened to notice that the weather was money, so I came home to check how the weather was at the nearest Buell dealer that was offering demos... Turns out, it was going to be good there until about 7pm or so... Nice. So I get on www.Buell.com and do a dealer search... I had already sent emails to every dealer in Ohio, but only a handful responded... This time, I wrote down all their numbers and hit the road. I called each one, getting quote after quote, after MSRP quote... I ended up finding a couple of guys who were really willing to work with me, a couple of guys who seemed ok, and more than a handful of douche bags. I found a couple good deals on used ones, but I really wanted a new one... Especially since I knew the differences between the '06 and newer bikes (better shifting tranny, lifetime belt, etc)... After a 3 hour drive, I was there. Walked in and the place was Harley heaven... Now, I like Harleys, so this was cool. They had the standard decked out chrome bling blings and a couple vintage bikes (one was from the late 30's I think, and the other was from 1913)... Pretty cool. This just happened to be one of the places that actually emailed me back orginally and so far, they still had the best offer. So after checking things out a little, I head to the Buells... Lookin' good. Speakin' of lookin' good... As I have seen before, this dealership had a couple real cute women workin'... ANYWHO... After a couple minutes a gray-haired fellow asks me if I needed any help... Once I disclosed the fact that I had emailed prior and was interested in demo'ing a bike, he hooked me up with the sales person I had originally contacted via email... April. April was pretty hot. She had about a 6 face on an 8 body... 5'10" ish, long legs, thin, and some great jubblies that were litterally falling out of her shirt... I bet she sold some bikes.... Anyway... Before you know it she had me outside, geared up, and on an XB12S waiting on some dude to take me on a demo... 10 seconds down the road I was sold. Rolling back in with a grin up to my eyeballs, "I am ready to sign please." Picked out the XB12Ss because it felt a little more comfy and larger fuell capacity was nice... Chose the Villain Black. Big Sweaty Succulant ( . Y . ) ... (not unlike April's.) After a hoard of paperwork, they send me on a 'Poker Run.' Basically they threw a deck of cards into a bag and sent me off to speak with various people throughout the building (Sales, Parts, Service managers, and one of the hotties in merchandise)... At each stop I pulled a card... If by the end (finance guy) I had an sort of winning poker hand, I won a prize... ranging from a $10 to $500 gift card. At the 2nd stop the parts guy let me draw like 4 times... then the final stop, the finance guy let me draw another couple times and finally said, "f*ck it, you get a pair... $10 gift card." Then I had to wait. And wait. And wait. And wait. .... And wait. Apparently something made my credit approval take FOREVER!!! Finally they call me in, make me sign more crap, take my $5k down payment, here's your messanger bag, a coupe t-shirts, the keys, and the bike is mine! Well, sorta. They hadn't prepped it! In fact, they hadn't even taken it back to the service area... April grabs the bull by the horns (or the Buell by the bars) and takes it back there for 'em. She then tells me where to take my truck. I roll around back to the service bay and there's a guy moving some bikes around... He asks me if I had a bike back here and I say, "damn skippy." He takes me into the actual bay in which the dude is working on my bike... 'Just goin' over a few things, noticed your battery wasn't 100%, threw in a new one.' Meanwhile the original service guy was just BAM'ing my bike like he had a total boner for my bike... Then as the one guy starts pulling my bike out, the orginal guy (sorry, I didn't get names) starts showing me his Blast and some of the various hop-ups he has on it... "not bad for $1k" ... I agree. Tonneau cover off, back 'er on up, bike on sweet elevator thing, ratchety ratchety tie down... Peace out. 2 Hours into the drive back I realize... Hey, it hasn't rained yet... How lucky am I? Drip... POUR... 5 minutes later... clear blue, Buelltiful. No more than 10 minutes later while imagining the water spots and chit all over my brand new machine, I realize... I have no way of unloading this flicking thing... I use the hill/ditch method, but I have nobody to drive my truck back home for me... Call up Redlock Rob (my buddy with red hair and dreds down to his ass)... Presto... Meet me at work.:dthumb: 350 miles, 8.5 hours later... I am about to make my machine complete it's first hooligan act under my reign. I mean, why get a 30 day tag, when you have a perfectly good plate at home? Well, if you were smart enough to think of stopping at home to get the plate before unloading... Ah well... Through some yards of local businesses, down a couple sidewalks just to avoid some cops letting people out of the Schott... I meet up with Rob behind the Kroger plaza and he follows me back to my apartment... "dude that thing sounds pissed off." That's right bitches!!! :baha: That's when I realized I had made an enormous error in judgement... Man, my 500 was ALOT narrower through the bars than this thing... Will it fit through the door? Measuring tape out... 32" door... 31" bars/clutch/brake lever... :bash: PAIN IN THE ASS, but I can do it... And I did... Then I decided I should take it out and get the first 50 miles on it... 50 under 50mph... (next 450 under 60 :cursin: ) Ok, couple things... My 500 sat lower, was longer, and felt ALOT lighter... This thing is a pain in the ass to manuever around the house... Good thing I do all my riding outside... :slol: Seriously, I used to move my 500 around, and when I'd run out of room on one side, I'd hop off... and grab the grab rail and strongarm that mutha by sliding the back tire around... Not gonna happen with the Buell... First off, no grab handle... the pasta strainer thing is the next closest thing and I am too much of a pu$$ to get it around... A couple tire/couch/tire/wall slams and I am in business... Out is much easier than in I soon found...:flush: If you have read this far, :thx2:... I promise the ride portion will be short... You cannot imagine how long it takes to get 50 miles on a bike with you are limited to under 50mph... Approximately 2 hours it looks like... Anyway, this thing is really going to take some getting used to... Heavy flywheel, no engine braking... No biggie... Nimble as a mutha... 10 miles and no biggie... Downshifting has little, if any impact in the mid to lower revs... Very odd... Brakes and suspension that are good... WHOA! A bike that doesn't feel like it's going to wallow out from underneath me on every hard corner... NICE! This bike is soooo different, I feel like I am starting all over again. My right hand turns suck now, but lefties feel good... Torque on command is a very cool, yet strange experience... Not having to rape your motor to get it moving is very cool... Fit and finish are pretty good... Nothing crazy sweet to write home about, but this is a flucking hooligan machine... A little ugly is a good thing IMHO... Every switch on my 500 was fat and rounded... Buell small and hard... Speaking of hard, the grips suck more than a $2 whore... Remember those old bicycles that had streamers and banana seats... Remember the Plasti-dip wannabe grips on those things... Yeah, I am beginning to think those were made of Tempur-Pedic bed material... Ah, easy/cheap enough fix...

I really got to rambling there... what dealer did ya finally go to? Western-Reserve Harley Davidson... Mentor. Good group of people... Of course, when you are spending $10k they are sure to be nicer! A couple things before you see the pics... 1) It had rained a bunch and all the roads still had wet spots, so the bike is dirty as fluck. It will be cleaned tomorrow and many more pics will be taken. 2) As with all the other 'gratuitous kitchen' pics, the lighting SUCKS. I apologize.:sorry: 3) You guys better be happy... My digi cam was out of batteries, so I had to borrow them from the remote... Now I cannot turn on my TV or change the channels. :wbs: I actually thought about not posting all of this until tomorrow due to not having batts, but fluck it...

wow that was a long story... and DAMN I'm so jealous... :dthumb: remind me again why you park your bike in the kitchen? (as opposed to outside) Outside?! OUTSIDE?! My old bike spent 6 months in a Uhaul storage unit (indoor, temperature control) @ $50/month because I am not willing to let it sit outside... Screw that... I actually thought about it, and if it wouldn't have fit through my door I was going to go back to my parents house (130mi away) and put it in their garage, stay the night, then buy a shed in the morning (that is of course if taking off the door wouldn't have worked)... My wallet and my sanity are happy that it fits... Now thats a good looking bike... but im a little biased as I got the same thing last tuesday night. Ive already got 600 miles on mine and I loooove it. Congrats I am going to hit the 500 mile break-in, kick it in the pants and make it move mark tomorrow... At least that's my goal.

I think Buell offers two different kinds of handgrip upgrades for about $40. if the grips start to get annoying. "Pasta strainer things..." Great stuff. Maybe I'll join you with a Firebolt one of these days.

Lefts are gettin' low and rights are gettin' lower... Bike is absolutely filthy though... To the point of utter disgust on my part... I took off the stickers and the reflectors off the forks... Thinkin' about taking off the passenger pegs tonight as well... Already purchased frame pucks and front/rear axle sliders... Left mirror came loose today, tightened her back down...
