Rae's Take on the "Unofficial" Rally

First off, heres the photo, sorry its a lil blurry and hasnt been edited, but I know ya'll are dying to see it!! The Official GROUP PHOTO!! I missed all ya'll and the ride before we even left the parking lot!! Okay, this might get a lil sappy...be warned! This weekend I met some of the best people I have ever had the good luck to meet! Everyone that came was just beyond great, friendly and people I definitely feel I created lasting friendships with!! I would ride with ya'll any day!! I can't wait till next year!!! Ladies First! Psycho- you are a great rider and a wonderful sweet person!! You dont need to worry bout keeping up girl, we were trying to stay with you! :lol: YBSlow- you are already my best friend, no need for anything else! Andrea-you are one brave lady! Props to you for getting out there with us and braving the dragon!! Both you ladies, I am so incredibly proud to have gotten to ride with you this weekend and proud of both of you for doing it! Ya'll are great and a true inspiration for other ladies that want to get out there!! Next year we are gonna take the guys!! :wink: Jeeps-So glad you could make it, I was so glad to meet you in person and cant wait to see ya again! Guys, I didnt know this before I got out there with him, but Jeeps is an INCREDIBLE RIDER!! I have never seen the like!! One word describes his riding, *POOF* (and he's gone!!) Trip-thanks so much for all the help you were and for being a great ride leader! Very capable rider great to watch and a "trip" to hang out with!!! (Don't touch the little piece tho!! :wink:) Drewpy- Words just cant describe!! :lol: You are one awesome rider and a great guy!!! Watch out for them boots tho, dont get too close!! :hug: (You ended up with the biggest piece!) NTS- Dude, you RAWK!! You scare me a lil, please be careful (yeah yeah, I know, mom syndrome!) but it just wouldnt have been the same without you!! I think we need to call you sparky! FP-You are one super cool dude, it was a blast hanging with you!! Although next year, you watch out, I am gonna have my camera to get YOU in all those live action shots! :lol: 600rr, R1, and Bal_Sak, ya'll are great, didnt get to hang with ya'll quite as much but had a blast when we did, ya'll be safe out there and we'll see ya next year! NYRican-bro, you are great, nuff said!! JLBusa-hunny, thanks for not giving me a heart attack!! As for the ride, words just cannot describe!! Intense, friggin incredible, the best riding experience of my life, etc etc... The coast racing was great, but next year I want a handicap, a passenger maybe??!! :lol: Maybe we can bring some 50's out too!! We had several awards created this rally, details to follow from the members they honor :wink:! Drewpy Award... NTS Award... And the phrase that will live on forever! -- "Leave my lil piece alone!!" I will create an album out of all the pics we got since I got them all from everyones cameras...I will have it up hopefully sometime this week!

I think we should make it a 2wt forum rally and do something every year around the same time. We could put together some giveaways and get some cabins at fontana and have a big cookout with all the forum members. They do this on the R1 forum and have a great turn out and time. If some of the people that went this time and want to do something like this let me know and we can get some people together to get a few ideas on this and start getting something together for next year.

Sounds like you guys and gals had a blast-I'll have to meet up sometime to ride, maybe next year, if I find enough time. Glad to see that no one was taken by the dragon. More Pics!!!!.

I am just sorry we didn't get to take you more places. Next year we will find that waterfall, Joe, if I have to beat someone up to find out where it is. :lol: We have to induct you into the Kilmer Slayers club as well. I doubt I will get any repeat slayers next year though. :lol: It's best you know as little about this road as possible before you do it. It's a quick way to the skyway basically.

Personally I liked Tapoco, not everyone has to stay there, but it is big enough to support a pretty good size cookout. I think everyone who attended this years will agree with me on this.

Great write-up/overview of the trip!! So jealous I couldn't make it, but sounds like ya'll had a great time!! Love the group pic -- THAT should be what's used for the 2WT ad!! There's nothing else that could better illustrate the sense of community here. :dthumb:

Didn't Nee and Chris go.....:scratch: guess not... :-) Ummmm.... nope. Never planned to (just wasn't good timing). I posted up that we're going with a group of friends in August, but we weren't able to squeeze this trip into the schedule. :(

I am going to get with Mod team to see what we can do about getting a lil more official, there will be stuff in the works, no fear!! Most likely this exact same weekend and we are already making plans to repeat at Tapoco lodge. Marsha knows its coming, she even offered to make our reservations now for next year! We should all get in one cabin though, there were 4 rooms in the cabin we stayed in, and we had LOTS of space. It was a great place to stay, less than 5 minutes from the Gap itself, and like FP said, there was not really much missing without cell phones, tv and internet, we spent so much time riding and a lil hanging out when we actually werent riding, there was NO time for anything else! They gave us the use of their deck area, loaned us a grill and spatula (we remembered everything else :lol:), opened up the lil store for us when we were running late from town and all in all it was an A+ place to be!! Plus super beautiful scenery! And a spot for the wet t shirt contest!! :wink: I just cant share enough how awesome it was!! We got home around 6:30, we talked about it the whole trip down (when we werent trying to catch up on sleep) and havent stopped talking about it since we got home!! Speaking of sleep, now maybe ya'll will believe me when I tell you I am NOT a morning person!! :lol:

I think we came the farthest, it took us a lil over 8 hours to get home, but on the way up we detoured and spent a night in ATL, so 5.5 hours then another 4 the next morning...if we had ridden we would never have been able to ride the dragon....i think FP rode tho...

I'd sugest trailerin ya bikes down from up there or take an extra 1/2 day or so.

We probably won't be able to make it next year, either... already have three trips planned next year: a group trip to Hawaii in Spring, a bachelorette trip (probably to The Gap) in August, and... oh... a honeymoon (location TBD) in September. :wink: Maybe we'll make the 2009 TWF Rally. :lol:

Anybody have any tank cam footage? I have a lot of tank cam footage that I have not seen yet. I gave my tapes to Chad so he can make a DVD for Aaron and I. Once I get a copy I will upload it and post it. I'm so freakin tired and don't know how I got up at 6:30 this morning. I'm just downing coffee and walking around like a zombie.

Drewpy's in the shower. Nts broke down on the way back through the skyway and again on the dragon we had to go pick him up in the trailer. Drewpy's step mom had a domino effect when she tried to park the bike. She slid on gravel becasue the bike's to big for her and droped her bike in to his dad's.

This is my most proud moment of the rally, I am so proud of her for getting on the bike and riding through it. She was scared witless, but made it to townsend and back again. After only taking 5 or 6 mile journeys, she really did good to go that far on such hard roads.
