:iagree:
Another question for those that have done a few track days. How hard is a track day on tires??
Really, I've heard that 1 track day can consume a set of tires, so I'm just wondering if I start running on the track if I'm going to have to replace rubber after every track day, or not? :idk:
Lookin good out there mang :dthumb: Keep it up!

I felt alot more comforable. my 750 was 10 years old and seem not to tip in as easy as my 06. did not get the knee down but my wife said at the last couple of sesions it was 2 inches away.
I did not think about getting it down. I worked in my entrence set up and beeing smooth. as it turns out this brings you to gettting the knee down.:dthumb:
PlayfulGod 06-22-2007, 11:22 AM That look like fun.....

for my experience level I could run 2-3. yes it eats up your tires fast. I will run one more time in a couple of weeks and then I am going to run a set of 2cts or corsas. which one will depend on the deal I get.

Well if he was getting passed in the straights by 600's then at least he might have a good head on his shoulders... :idk:

SV, it depends on a lot of things, How hard you ride, what tyres you're running, etc.
I run Pirelli Diablo's on my road bike, and have a tendency to wear out the middle before I'm anywhere near through tread at the edges. I've done a few track days on the '01 GSXR1000, and have never changed the tyres after just because they've balled up a bit on the edges.
Seriously, If you find your tyres fried after a track day, Go find Mat Mladin, and tell him you're his new teammate!
Lighter bikes eat tyres less, too! I can get a season out of Bridgestone BT39ss on the Moriwaki 80, and am currently coming up to the twelve month mark on the FDR (indonesian) tyres. That time includes 6 race meetings (two wet), 1 One hour event, one 45 Min event, and a suspension upgrade, so I'm going faster now than I was 12 months ago.
I took my G/F's SV650 out at Wakefield Park a cupla months ago. Got my knee down, and was chasing down a couple of c grade 400cc race bikes (on slicks). Tyres are fine
So..... no excuses. Go find a track, and get out there!:dthumb:
