Need4Speed 11-28-2004, 10:15 AM Whatcha got planned for the winter mod season ? Anything special? New exhaust maybe? New tires, jet kit, power commander? the possibilities are endless as we all know...or maybe you're planning on doing some cosmetic stuff instead ?
Gas Man 11-28-2004, 11:13 AM No, not me! I still have a timing advancer to put on, but can't do that till riding season. Other than that, there isn't any mods to do to the 9R that already haven't been done!
Seriously, the list on the bike is so rediculously long...
No Worries 11-28-2004, 11:16 AM The front suspension on my CBR is good, but not great. I'm planning on getting a Race Tech gold valve kit and fork springs. And I'll change the seals, bushings and fork oil. I'm also planning on getting a Factory Pro jet kit. But I wonder if I should do a before and after dyno run before I install it.

If you can do a b/4 and after dyno run, do it. It will nice to see the power difference from what you have now, to when your finished installing the jet ket. Plus its a handy reference tool as well.
GSXR1000DJ 11-28-2004, 11:44 AM Front and rear turn signals. Scotts damper. And more HP.
ShanMan14 11-28-2004, 03:48 PM I'll probably look at some heated gloves. It does get cold to ride during the winter months. :)
ScottSellersUNR 11-28-2004, 04:38 PM i was going to do the heated vest gloves and chaps(all underneath riding gear) because itll be 32 degrees or less for then ext 5 monthes, but after i bought my cheap winter gloves.. im happy with them and fleece pants nad sweater under the leather...Tourmaster PolarTex gloves will make your hands sweat at 40 degrees... they really work best for FREEZING weather or less.
Id beout today... it was 30 degrees out at noon except the stupid snow all over makes riding a bit of a dumb idea.... i wonder how studded tires would do... :p:
but as far as mods go.. this year just get rid of that huge undertail the Z has. Next year..... ZX9R race lightened flywheel and stator stuck in their.
Then once the warranty is up and i ride some more miles on it the engine rebuild from muzzys.... extra 42cc's and 1.5 increase in compression and cams... year or two after that.. if im still enjoying the bike.. nitrous, and maybe a lil longer then stock swing arm.

u doing all the mods yourself?
Gas Man 12-03-2004, 12:39 AM I hope so!! You should always do 99% of all your own mods!!!
twisty 12-03-2004, 07:01 AM I have tons of mods 1k and Racer. But i cant tell you guys. The Racer is undergoing a huge transformation. The only stock part on it will be the frame. As for the1k it will be getting a color change and a few upgrade from gixxerzone.com
rokdktr 12-03-2004, 11:05 AM Its kinda hard for me to do the mods from work.....northern BC....not much for roads let alone space to do mods to a bike....and I get home for maybe 1 week every 3 months through the winter.....but nothing getting done is stuff i really need to do anyhow....welder is building the subframe, machinist is building the billet pieces, painter doing the paint, etc....I did what i could before I came back to work, but for what they pay me out here, it doesn't bother me to pay for labor....and then I can ride all summer.

twisty 12-03-2004, 06:12 PM Yeah with all the money he is spending on that "classic" I would hope so. We had a guy ride with WOS a few times that had a tricked out RR and he tried to catch me and super, and wadded it up. I felt bad...he was trying to sell it. He wadded it up on of my fav turns too. He said it had like 140 hp. My thing is tho, Why spend so much dough on an old bike. But to each his own.
Gas Man 12-03-2004, 06:29 PM He said that thing had a 140hp??? I'm not sure about that...it was a chromy squided bike!!
rokdktr 12-03-2004, 08:30 PM yeah, CBR900RR. Doing it UK streetfighter style, not worried about Hpower, its got enough for it purpose. I just got tired having the same as everyone else, and be all end all its not costing that much....less than half what a new bike is worth (gotta love ebay and beer friendly helpers)...and then I can still get my Italian princess in the spring (999s or RSVR Factory, can't decide).
GSXR1000DJ 12-03-2004, 08:48 PM WOW sounds good. Go with the RSVR. :)
Rodogg04 12-20-2004, 01:19 AM i wanna get my pegs & brackets chromed. hopefully my wheels too!! santa ana plating!!! anyone get anything done there??
