Wish you could forget about something?

It may be possible in the future to erase a bad memory. The only problem I see is that you would possibly repeat the mistake you made the first time. However, I could see this as being a good thing for someone who went through a very traumatic time and it negatively affected them. However, if the trauma actually made them a stronger person for whatever reason, maybe they don't want to forget about it. Not sure if this is a good or bad thing yet, what are your thoughts? http://news.yahoo.com/s/livescience/20070703/sc_livescience/newdrugdeletesbadmemories

I'd erase a few childhood memories. Mostly I'd get horrible things I've seen on the internet unscarred from my brain.

Ha! I'm one step ahead of ya. I have MS and the short term memory portion of my brain is basically destroyed. I constantly forget **** and live by the sticky note, if I can remember where I put them:scratch: I repeat myself a lot too, which can be annoying to others, unfortunately. It ain't no fun, believe me. Ha! I'm one step ahead of ya. I have MS and the short term memory portion of my brain is basically destroyed. My memories and experiences are what made me who I am today, I've learned from those experiences and wouldn't trade those memories, good or bad for anything.

I had an aquaintance in high school that had a horrible childhood. It effected his sense of self worth and confidence terribly. He had an auto wreck that wiped his "hard drive" and he was a totally different person. Outgoing and chatty, upbeat. I can see why people who had to suffer rape or abuse might benefit from someting like that. Even post traumatic stress patients might be able to apply it somehow.:idk:

My memories and experiences are what made me who I am today, I've learned from those experiences and wouldn't trade those memories, good or bad for anything. I mostly think this way, But recent events in my life make me think differently. Not sure I want to forget, but I would like the memories to not take over my life.
