My uncle has a Night Train that has made me want a cruiser I love the drag bars on it keeps me leaning forward. Well want that one but will probably go with custom chopper anyway. I'll make Gas Man happy. I'm looking at the Big Dog K9 or American Ironhorse LSC

That (nighster) looks like one of the very few harleys I'd consider riding.

I don't think I would do that... but to each their own!! really? well alot of the reason is that the street rod is just so cumbersome (i know...it's a harley). the nightster is so much more manageable. i can flat-foot it, and it saves about 100 lbs. it has plenty of power, i'll just be losing that sportbikeish quality that the street rod has. i never thought i'd say this, but i think the street rod is too much bike for me. i need something a bit smaller, lighter. i always worry about dropping the street rod, soon i'll will that bad energy on myself. i just wanna be proactive instead of reactive. besides...i think the nightster is badass looking!

OIC... didn't know you felt that way about the streetrod. I was just looking at its aftermarket and horsepower potential. Like the link I sent ya for aftermarket mapping and exhaust. But I understand about the size thing. My wife's sporty is very nimble for a Harley. I don't think I would push the small tires too hard but it has the ground clearance. The nightster is a nice bike. I like how they bobbed the rear fender, went to frog eye/fender strut side tail lights with intergrated turns. The fork tube covers are coming back in style and add that bobber look to it. Plus the lack of chrome makes it a breeze to clean. Of coarse, that is with the understanding that anything black needs alot of regular cleaning. But at least it don't have black and alot of polished billet. (like my chop is) The 2007 Sporty's with FI (first year on the sporty) create about 17% more power than previous years. Just as a side note if you are considering any used/carbed models.

if the damn street rod didn't weigh so much i'd keep it. even stepping up my fitness regimen doesn't make maneuvering that thing any easier. i am woman enough to admit the street rod is too much bike for me. it was great while it lasted though. i'm glad i had the experience. it's a beautiful bike too.

Well, at least you get to be a cool biker for a couple weeks, while you are on you Kawi, then you go back to a HD... :leaving:  j/k... congrats and enjoy!

The VRSCR is a sweet bike but so is the Nightster, and you make good points about its virtues. Most importantly it delivers a major grin, and in the end, this is what matters most.
