I don't think there has been any stock turbo bike since the mid-80's. Honda 500 IIRC.

ceo012384 07-15-2007, 11:06 PM None of the 600's currently out come with a turbo.
There is no reason to turbo a 600 unless you want to drag it at a drag track.
They are plenty fast and you don't want to deal with turbo lag on a bike, since it's introduction will cause instability if turning.

PlayfulGod 07-15-2007, 11:14 PM You want a turbo because you like the sound? knock a hole in your helmet so it makes a whistling sound. Alot more affect than a turbo on a bike IMO. No real applicable use except for show or drag racing.

I agree... You can get a 3/16" drill bit MUCH cheaper than a turbo setup.

AH yea n death. Hell might as well add NOS to the mix too. Nothing like a NO2 explosion :slol:

PiZdETS 07-15-2007, 11:53 PM Turbo GSXR 600, watch the tach (http://videos.streetfire.net/hottestvideos/11/f77f999c-4008-4e53-aa58-8917ee9ffc75.htm):yikes:
As cool as it is, I don't get why anyone would do it other than to be different. Even if it's super efficient you're only going to make around literbike territory except now with lag and a transmission/clutch that will need to be replaced ASAP as they're not designed for the power.
Just buy a literbike, then I can understand wanting more power but I would go with supercharging instead of turbo. Remember; drifting is fun in a car, not so fun on a bike.
S/C gives linear, off idle power that lasts all the way to redline, not massive violent hits of power somewhere around 3/4 rev range like turbos. Also a lot less wearing on the drivetrain, cooling system, everything basically.
Cali superbikes specializes in s/c and turboing bikes. (http://www.calisuperbikes.com/) I've read several glowing reviews of bikes they've boosted.
I use to lurk on superkaos messageboards which is a site all about turbo bikes, there's land speed record holders, insane people and the owner who made that famous video of the silver turbo busa that's everywhere online now. That's how I know a little about all this pointless crap. :readng:

Crazy250 07-16-2007, 12:53 AM get an aftermarket exhaust?? usually plenty of options for most bikes, even the ninja250 has one or two.

Italian V-twin.
btw- How old are you if you don't mind my asking?
dalejr_802 07-16-2007, 01:11 AM 20...im about 5"8 tall and i currently on a ninja 250 im deciding what bike should i get that fits my height my ninjas seat is perfect for me but i have some height left
Crazy250 07-16-2007, 01:21 AM i'm about the same height, you should be okay on most sportbikes, but best idea is to just go to the dealer, sit on a bunch, and see which one feels the best.
dalejr_802 07-16-2007, 01:32 AM a local dealer told me that theres a thing that makes the seat lower...i was lookin at a gsrx 600 when the sales man told me that its possible

smokeuu 07-16-2007, 07:13 PM we just got done with a turbo setup on a 2007 gsxr 600. On 8psi of boost it put down 160's at the rear wheel. it makes it nice to afford insurance on a 600 and still be able to smoke the liter bikes. the kit runs 3500.00 installed. as far as the turbo being death, i would have to say its not the power that kills, its the dumbass that is turning the throttle and dont know their limits. its not something for the beginner.
jnn7404 07-16-2007, 08:20 PM Turbo's are cool for drag bikes or just cruising around. I understand there is throttle control/powerband issues in the throttle, so it's prolly not a good idea for twisties. But if you are not into twisties and have a buttload of money then that would make a killer sleeper! Make sure you wear all your gear tho, be safe, and be cautious of other peeps! Show some pics tho if you get it done.

trock 07-16-2007, 09:04 PM This is amusing. Also, the Saleen and Viper in the beginning of 2F2F were not ricers by any means. Civics with coffee cans for mufflers, loud sound systems, and bodykits are ricers.
Stunt4Life 07-16-2007, 09:08 PM Basically cheap cars that are made to look and sound fast but are actually slow as fock.

My school is winthin 10 mile of my house but I wear my jacket n gloves at the leat no matter if its just 1 mile up the road. Most accicents are within 5 miles of home, according to statistics. No one is jumping you, its your body and you ride. I use to wear nuttin but a helmet and even not that sometymes last bike I had years ago. Needless to say I went down. Lucky it was a cold night so I at least had my denim jacket on n my helmet. Jacket still has a bent buttun helmet has the scratches, and I still have the pains n scars to remind me of it. Bike was totaled  Length of the ride dont make it any safer on the road. But just be safe n enjoy your ride.
I really need to find something to do
trock 07-17-2007, 06:05 PM Even on my 30 minute lunch break today, I changed from gym shorts and tennis shoes into jeans and boots, put on my jacket and helmet just to go a half mile up the road to grab some food. Moral is that it doesn't matter how short the ride is, you should always wear gear and be smart about your riding.
King Bob 07-17-2007, 07:21 PM no matter if its a football field away, or 100 miles, your gear is what could save you, or let you die, depending on whether it is on you or not. mine goes on NO MATTER WHAT. hotter than hell? perforated leather jacket and lots of water. cold as ice? liner goes in, heavier clothing goes on, I dont really care. I'd rather be sweaty and hot, or cold and pissed than bloody and broken.

I rode for about 7 1/2 years before my first incident this spring. Made a newb mistake, hit cross walk tape on cold tires doin about 15mph in a turn and ended up low siding.
All in all total damage to the bike was about $250. I highly recommend you get good quality frame sliders, mine shattered in the crash and did nothing for my fairings. I got everything replaced really cheap though.

PiZdETS 07-18-2007, 11:13 PM If you're looking for better sound, modify your air intake/filter/airbox. Mine came with carbon fiber ram air tracts which are 40% larger than stock and they are LOUD.

I read that a lot of what gives V-Twins their distinct sound is the intake howl. Kawasaki's have the best intake sound that I've heard, sound like jet fighters sucking in air.
