Any of you all see this? I was at a bar last night and the xgames was on the tvs and the entire bar all at once goes "OHHHHHHH!!!!". This is by far the biggest skating crash I have ever seen. 50 ft free fall, shoes explode off of his feet. And the f&*ker walked away. He is one tough dude. 4mD0VMubReo

From the way he did the fall I think he's done that before. That is suppose to be the best angle for a freefall to the ground. Your legs stop you some but don't take the entire force helping prevent shattering the leg. Your butt takes the main force of the fall which is your most padded body part. Then by the time his head smacks the ground he's at a normal crash. Sick though and I bet he crapped his britches on the way down.

Yeah he did take it pretty well. The problem with the way he fell though is that often times you get a little whip effect and your head slams pretty badly. Even with a helmet it can f&*k your neck up very badly... whiplash or even broken vertebrae. He's a tough mofo that's for sure.

Haha I saw that crash last night! Definately one of the worse ones that I've seen in the x games. Though I've seen some pretty bad ones in the freestyle mx. I'm thinking he's probably done that before too, I'm sure a lot of them have, it comes with the territory. Kinda like when you ride mx a bike landing on you comes with the territory. Yay for x games! By the way, he may have walked off the ramp and out but I hear he was taken to the hospital in a wheel chair.

By the way, he may have walked off the ramp and out but I hear he was taken to the hospital in a wheel chair. Yeah I think that was just precautionary to get him all checked out. He's a bada$$ for sure though.

By the way, he may have walked off the ramp and out but I hear he was taken to the hospital in a wheel chair. When you suffer a large trauma or crash. Regardless if you appear to be fine or not Paramedics are required to neckbrace you and to strap you to the backboard. Which you won't get out of until you get an Xray. Because if you ask any paramedic or firefighter they can probably account showing up at a car crash where someone appears to be fine and all. And even while talking to them to just drop dead there. Honestly I'm suprised they didn't strap him up there on the ramp. Because whomever is insuring the Xgames will probably have a hissy fit whent hey see a guy walking off the ramp after a fall like that. And for the Wheelchair I believe it is required for certain patients to remain in a wheel chair when entering a hospital and exiting. When I left hte hospital they forced me to sit in a chair when I wanted to walk. NOt sure of the exact policy but they are basically made to protect the hospital and paramedics from getting sued.

As of friday night they said he could be released tomorrow. He has a brusied lung and liver. I was watching it live with my wife and it scared me. Then the dude from MI trying the double back flip. The X games are amazing, however I really thinkl it is only going to be a matter if time before someone dies on live TV from a wreck. But Jake is tougher than I'll ever be. And I doubt he has ever taken that big of a fall before.
